GUARDIANS
Where it all began
The world as we know it was no more. Dark demonic beings took over humans and gave them powers to cause chaos. In order to protect it self Mankind made superhumans with different powers to fight the darkness. The superhumans multiplied and almost 70% of the humans became the gifted. Due to the raising attack rates mankind created 3 groups of top fighters. Omega, Ranger and Guardians. Omegas are the best healers. Rangers are the best defence and Guardians are the best fighters. These soldiers are the only hope for mankind to survive.

I ran as fast as i can towards my school. "I'm late! I'm late! I'm late!" I cried as i ran past a busy bus station. "Akira-Chan!" a family friend called out. "Sorry can't talk! I'm late!" I called as i zoomed past him. I heard him chuckle.
Just as i burst into class the school bell went off. "I made it!!!" I cried as i fell on my chair next to the window. My close friend Himari turned around and laughed. "Did you oversleep again?" She asked as she tied her long cotton candy pink hair. "Sort of" I replied with a chuckle. I ran my fingers through my Pearl White with Silver Grey and Baby Blue tip hair. I scanned the room with my Royal Blue eyes.
The teacher entered and the class monitor stood up. "Raise" He said and everyone stood up. "Bow" He said as we bowed at the teacher.
That day at break me and Himari were hanging out at the compound eating our lunch. "So have you made your mind on the school you are going to go to?" Himari asked. "I'm still searching" I lied. Actually i have made my mind to go to the top warcraft school in the entire world but people would call me crazy since the acceptance rate is below low. "How about you" I quickly asked to change the spotlight on me.
"I'm thinking of going to Stones High. They trained the best Omega's" She said. "Oh yeah. You want to be an Omega" I said. She laughed. "I don't have the guts to be a Ranger. Besides the bests are selected for the Guardians. I'm far from the best" She said with a giggle.
Hazelgrove made the best Guardians. I let out a defeated shy. How am i supposed to get accepted to Hazelgrove. With only a simple water magic it wasn't enough to be selected.
I groaned and laid down on the grass. "Kira-Chan?" Himari asked looking at me. "I don't know what to do with my life Himari. I'm not sure what path to take" I told her. "Your dad wanted you to be a Guardian right?" Himari asked. "Yeah. But after what happened to Dad, Mom doesnt want that for me" I told her. "Your dad" She traced off.
"He's still missing?" She asked. I stared at a passing cloud. "Yeah" I replied. My dad was one of the top level guardians. But he went missing in a huge fight against the Exile. "Any update on the issue?" Himari asked. "None by the Military. Mom still has her hopes high about him returning. But my uncle lost hope a long time ago" I explained as i rose my hands to the sky.
"You......You want to be a guardian to find him right?" Himari asked. I looked at her from the corner of my eye. She was already looking with concern in her eyes. I sat up and stared at the grass as a breeze blew by. "I guess" I replied. "But Kira-Chan. Your mother and uncle would never let you be a Guardian" Himari told me. "You think i don't know that?" I shot at her. "It's the only way to find him. To see if he's alive. And if he is alive it's the only way to bring him back. If he's not then.... It's the only way to put him to rest" I cried at her.
"My uncle resigned from the rangers because of mom. I know that she won't ever let me. But i have to try" I told her as i stared back at the grass. "I can't just sit around doing nothing" I added softly. Himari let out a soft shy.
"You can do it" She said. "Eh?" I asked as i turned to face her. "You can become a guardian" She said as a bunch of kids ran past us. "I know. But the only place where they train the Guardians is Hazelgrove. And their acceptance rate is 0.3% out of a 100%" I said running my fingers through my hair. "You won't know if you don't try now will you? Besides. I always told you that there was something special about you. You'll make it." Himari said with a big smile. "You should try for Hazelgrove too. They take in 12 students for Omega as well." I told her as i stretched my legs. "Sure. If it makes you happy" Himari said with a giggle.
The bell went off and the both of us rushed back to class. After school me and Himari walked together to our homes as it was pretty close by. "Want to stop by my place and watch tv for a while?" I asked Himari.
"Yes!!" She said throwing her hands up. We came to my home and Himari's home was just down the road. "I'm home!!" I called as i entered. "Ah! Kira. There's frozen pizza in the fridge!!" Mom's voice called.
"Himari-Chan! It's been so long!" Mom said popping her head from the hallway as we removed our shoes to enter. "Mrs.Kazuki! Indeed. Been busy with the high school application process" Himari said with a giggle as i hurried upstairs.
"Kira won't even speak about it with me" Mom said looking up as i hurried upstairs. "I haven't made my mind up yet!" I called as i rushed into my room. "I'm heating the pizza!!" Mom called. I waited outside my room door as Himari ran to catch up.
"You do know that you would need a parents signature" Himari hissed as i opened my room door. Both of us froze. Uncle Ren stood inside with my half filled Hazelgrove application form. He turned to look at us.
"I can explain! Please don't tell mom!" I cried as i rushed inside and Himari shut the door behind her after she rushed in after me. He rose his hand. "Here" He said handing it over to me. Confused i took it. "I filled out the parents area. Will provide you a picture and a photocopy of my ID card and magic registration tomorrow" He added. I stood there staring. Not knowing how to respond. He grinned. "This is what your father would have wanted. Knowing your mother... she's still heartbroken. So obviously she wouldn't allow it. But.... I know your reasons. So i will help you" He said. I hugged him.
"You have no idea how important this is. I'm so grateful! Thank you!!" I cried. He smiled. "Now it's your job to get into the school. Knowing you don't have any back up plan i'd say that this is a gamble" He said with a laugh. He put his hand on my head and smiled. Than walked out of the room and shut the door. Both me and Himari jumped up and down in joy. I can't believe this! I got permission to go to Hazelgrove. Now i have to work twice as hard to make it to the top 12.
