I walked towards the shopping district early morning to run an errand for mom. "Kira-Chan? I don't see you at this time" Himari's voice said. I turned to see her in her jogging clothes catching up to me. "Yeah. I had to run an errand" I said with a giggle. "You seriously wake up this early to go jogging at this time?" I asked. "Yup!" She said.

"It boosts my energy level and i'm all ready for another day at school" She said fixing her ponytail. "Kira-Chan. You should join me" She added. "You do know that i'm not really a morning person" I told her as i shifted to a side.

"Yeah but don't you know that Hazelgrove entrance exam is entirely based on physical performance? If you aren't fit they won't even consider you for a second" She said.

"When do i begin to jog?" I asked almost immediately. "That was too easy" Himari said facepalming herself.

"I'll go and pick you up early tomorrow. Wake up at 5" She told me. "5?" I gleaned. She nodded. "See you at school!" She called as she jogged off. "5 in the morning?" I asked still glooming. "Well, if its for Hazelgrove. It's nothing" I told myself as i walked towards the shops. As i reached the area something struck out to me.

"Why is it so... quiet?" I asked myself as i looked around. The streets were empty and there was no one around. I looked at the wrist watch on my right wrist. 7:35AM. Usually at this time even people will be buzzing around.

Instead of going back home i decide to investigate. "Maybe shops are opening late?" I wondered as i looked around as i walked by. But i had a feeling that something wasn't right. I wanted to call out to someone but i decided to keep quiet and look around. I took a turn towards the river and froze. A family of 3 were surrounded by Exile's. There were 5 Exile's to be exact. How did they get this far through the borders. And not to mention the Rangers.

I looked around for any Guardians. "Help us!" A voice called. I looked and saw everyone staring at me. "A magic user?" One of them hissed. Startled i took off back towards the direction i came. But 3 of them were following me. I took a sharp turn into a small road leading towards the river. What am i supposed to do?? I'm not trained to fight. Where were the Guardians. I slipped as i turned to take a sharp turn but caught myself as they broke through.

I knew that if i didn't fight back i would end up in the hospital or worse. I saw the other 2 near the family a few blocks down. I ran on to the River and turned to see the 3 standing near the shore staring and growling. Since i was gifted with water magic i could walk on water. "Hey little girl. Why don't you come over?" One of the Exile's chuckled.

I bended over and touched my knees as i thought of a plan in my head. If i could distract them i could escape with the family and not be involved in any serious fight. But how exactly should i distract them.

"Hey kid. You are outnumbered here. Give up and come over." One of the exile's called. That was also true. A 15 year old who has never had any fighting experience is now faced with this. If they get serious, i could end up in the hospital. Or worse.

"Let the family go!" I called out at them. "Oh what do you know. She can talk. I was starting to think she couldn't" One of them chuckled. "Aw. A guardian wannabe. So cute" Another one chimed in.

"I'm serious. Let them go!" I called trying to hide that i was trembling. "Or what?" An Exile asked. "Or i'll have to teach you guys a lesson" I warned them as the water around me began to rise. "She's just bluffing" One of them called. I charged at them with the water following. I stopped and motioned my hand towards them. The water went full speed towards them and i changed course and.ran towards the family. The two near them began to run towards them. A water beam knocked them off as i jumped over them and ran towards the family.
