Academy of magical warcraft

[ Kazuki Akira ]

I took a deep breath to calm my racing heart as the entrance exams was today. "Calm down. I can feel your heart racing from the kitchen" Anzai said stepping into the living room. I did a double take as he was wearing shorts only.

I turned to look towards the door to see mom frozen near the door wearing her bathrobe. "WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON HERE??????" I cried jumping to my feet.

Anzai casually looked at me. "Your mother and i are dating" He said as if it was normal. "You guys are what?" i asked. "I was going to tell you sooner" Mom explained. "What about dad?" i asked. "Akira. If you read the guardian book you clearly know that if a person is missing for more than 4 years than they are considered officially dead" Anzai said staring outside. "Which means any ties such as jobs or marriages will be cut from the court" he added.

I turned to look at him. Than looked at mom. "I'm glad that you are happy. Been a while. Anzai Sensei is strong and more than capable to look after a family. But i won't accept that my father is dead till i confirm it myself" I told her.

Anzai turned to look at me. Mom smiled and touched my cheeks. "I understand." She said touching my head. "Akira" Anzai said. I looked at him. "Go get ready. Hazelgrove is calling your name" He said. "Yeah" I said. "I'll cheer you on from there" Anzai said. "Huh? How?" I asked looking at him. "I work there as a trainer as well" He said.

I stood there staring blankly. "Is there anything else you both will like to tell me?" I asked. Mom shook her head. "Oh yeah. We should probably pretend not to know each other in school" Anzai said. "I could do that pretty well" I snapped and walked to my room to get ready.

After getting ready i quickly hurried outside where Himari was waiting for me. "Kira-Chan!!" She called.

I grabbed her and power walked far away from my home. "What's wrong??" Himari asked. "Not yet" I called back. When we were a good few feet away from home i stopped.

"I need to tell you something" I told her. "Huh?" she asked. "Mom and Anzai Sensei are dating." I blurted out. "Woah.... That has got to be awkward." She said. "And he's a trainer at Hazelgrove" I added. "And that makes it more awkward" She said.

"What should i do??" I asked her. "I don't really know what to say" She told me. "Don't say that!! You always know what to say!!" I cried at her. "Well. First of all i'm happy for your mom. She has been alone for over 10 years after your dad went missing. And not to mention a dad like Anzai-san would be a dream come true" Himari said.

I looked at the students passing by who were going to their tryouts for different schools. "And by judging your reaction you feel the same way" Himari said. I turned to look at her. "Eh?" I asked. "You aren't really upset by the fact Anzai-san and your mom are together. I just sense shock. Not any anger" Himari said. I looked down at my feet. "Anzai Sensei has been a huge help to me for the past couple of months. I guess i thought of him as a father figure when my training began." I told her.

"Kira-Chan! If we don't hurry we are going to be late for the Hazelgrove tryouts! And i have to go to Stone High after this" Himari said looking at her wrist watch. We ran to Hazelgrove. "Woah" I said admiring the exterior.

Himari porked me with her elbow and i turned to look. She was looking somewhere else so i followed her gaze to see everyone staring at me. "I guess people is still not over the riverside incident" Himari said as we walked in.

"Hello! My name is Sakura! Are you both here to apply for the intake?" A staff asked approaching us. We nodded. "This way" She said leading us.

We stopped by the office so that they could check out forms. They checked Himari's and gave her a number to stick on her top.
