I gaped at him with my eyes bulging out of my sockets.
"I did tell you to be careful." He says, shrugging his shoulders with a faint smirk on his lips.
"I COULD HAVE BEEN EATEN ALIVE!" I shout standing up and glaring down at him.
"But you didn't." He retorts, with annoyance lacing his voice.
I could only stare at him in disbelief. Why is he getting annoyed at me!?
Before I could give him a piece of my mind, he turns away from me to face my co-workers, who were silently looking at our exchange.
"I will take myself and Camilla to get a fresh change of clothes. Feel free to look around." He says with an announcer like smile, before motioning to me to follow him and walking off.
"Oh", he says, suddenly turning around, causing everyone to look at him once more. , "-and be careful. We don't want someone else falling into the tank now would we?"
His eyes hold a dangerous gleam, as he gives us all a smirk and turns around to make his way towards the elevator.
I rush after him, making my way into the elevator after him. I couldn't help but think that this Mr Lodon guy is definitely different from what I imagined.
He didn't even bat an eyelash when I said I could have died!
If that doesn't scream crazy scientist, then I don't know what does.
Too caught up in my thoughts, I didn't realise that we have reached the 1st floor until Mr Lodon calls my name.
"Camilla, you thinking of getting off any time soon?"
Startled, I look up and see him already outside the elevator giving me an impatient look. Mumbling a sorry, I step out, and close the door behind me.
Mr Lodon leads me into a section of the house where we haven't been. The hallways look unfamiliar, and with every step we take, it feels like we are going further into darkness.
"Don't you have any lights in this house?" I ask. At this point I am feeling the walls as I walk, not being able to see anything infront of me.
"I don't have lights in the hallways, only in my bedroom." He replies back. His voice sounds confident, as if the lack of lighting doesn't bother him one bit.
I'm solely relying on the sound of Mr London's footsteps to determine where to go. The hallways now seem to fan out, and it's hard to touch both sides of the walls.
Suddenly I hear Mr London's footsteps slow down to a stop. Using my sense of sound, I focus on the direction I last heard his footsteps and walk.
"Ompf."
I rub my sore head. I must have run into a wall. Lifting my hands up, I try and feel around the wall to help guide me in which direction to go.
As my hands roam the wall, I can't help but find it strange. It has sudden dips and the wallpaper feels oddly like clothing.
"Are you done?"
The closeness and ruffness of his voice causes me to gasp and take a step back.
"I'm... I'm sorry. I thought I hit a wall." I can't help but feel embarrassed. Thank God it was dark, where the hell did I touch him?!
My mind is pulled out of the gutter when Mr Lodon opens a door, and flicks on a light switch. Light floods the hallway, and the bedroom. His tall and large frame enters the bedroom.
"I don't have anything your size, but my clothes should be better then your wet ones." I make my way inside the room as I hear him speaking to me. I didn't want to seem rude for entering his private bedroom, but one look inside and I'm surprised someone can call this place theirs.
