We arrive at his run down house and both exit in silence. I am left to pick up my bags myself, as Mr Lodon enters his house leaving the door open for me.
I enter and head straight to the kitchen, Mr Lodon is there getting ready to make coffee.
"Down the hall, second right," he instructs in a monotone voice, without looking up.
Too tired to say anything, I just comply. Walking down the unlighted hallway once again, I feel my throat constrict. Never again would I have thought I would be here again. Seeing the door to my room, I turn the nob and see a medium sized room, with a large bed in the middle, a drawer, and a door leading to the bathroom. The walls are bare of colour, and the floor is the same. The room is as minimalistic as possible without any warmth. It drives home the fact that I am just a prisoner here.
After unpacking what little things I bought with me, I fall onto the large and cold bed absolutely defeated. Snuggling my face into the pillow I search for the warm comfort I need, only to smell the fresh scent of cotton. Soon my tears turn the pillow salty, as I wonder how I got into this mess.
I have been kidnapped by a monster. A heartless killing monster!
My sobs echo through the empty room, not knowing the fact that the monster lurking in the kitchen can hear my every falling tear drop.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Three loud bangs on my bedroom door jolt me awake. I sit up on my bed frightened and anxious, remembering the entirety of yesterday.
"Meet me in my lab in 10 minutes. No later." Mr Lodon's deep and monotone voice echos from behind the door. Only when I hear his footsteps retreating do I finally get out of bed and walk towards the door.
Slowly opening it, I enter the dark hallway. Not feeling a presence, I go back into my bedroom and close the door behind me. I try my best to stay quiet as I rush over to my bed, and hurriedly find my phone.
Grabbing it from under my pillow, I dial in the 3 most important numbers even a kindergartener knows to call when in danger. Just as I'm about to press call Mr Lodon's words echo back into my head.
"You tell anyone of this, and I will rip their heads off right in front of you."
My hand brings the phone back to the bed. I dont want anyone else getting hurt cause of me. I cant let him hurt anyone else.
The sudden loud banging from my bedroom door makes me freeze in fear. The knocks are quick and hard, signalling his impatience. I walk over to the door warily, too scared he will rip the door off its hinges at any second.
As my hand touches the door knob, the knocks stop. Opening the door with a creak, I'm greeted my nothing but the darkness of the hallway.
Opening the door wider, I peek my head out to get a better look. When I cant see anything, I'm about to close the door, when a larger figure hanks the door open and shuts it immediately.
If it wasn't for the pissed off looming presence in front of me, I would have thought that the door opening and closing that quickly was just my imagination.
Mr Lodon takes two slow steps forward.
I take two back.
His eyes eye my feet as he approaches me again, just as if a tiger approaching its prey. His shoulders roll, and his head slightly tilts as he sees me walk back again. His eyes. They are pitch black. It's like looking into the ocean at night. The black ocean, which looks so calm on the surface, but underneath is a storm. Staring into his unmoving eyes makes me take a step back in fear.
"Is this it? Is he going to kill me now?"
He takes a step forward again, and I attempt to take one back, only to be met with the end of my bed.
There is no where to run. He has the exit blocked, and he will catch me before I run to the bathroom. I look behind me to find a makeshift weapon when I feel the heat of breath at my ear.
"I said, 10 minutes." His deep voice alone gives me shivers, and not the type that a high schooler would feel talking to a cute guy. The type of shivers you get when you fear for your life.
Turning my head ever so slightly I see his face centimeters away from my own. The air is thick with my fear. Catching my eye, he moves his head slightly back, waiting for me to face him completely.
Once we are both facing each other, he scans me from head to toe. His face shows no indication of appreciation, or disgust, he just scans me. Like a scientist scanning their next test subject. Without saying anything else he simply turns on his heel and walks out. I'm left confused and alone in my bedroom.
"What sort of exchange was this."
" If I have to come in there again and get you again, you wont be coming out alive." His voice echos down the hall.
I make my way towards the bedroom door. He left it fully open so I can hear the sound of him opening the door to the elevator. Walking out of my room, head to the kitchen and make a right, going down a shorter hallway to the elevator. Once I get closer to the elevator, I see his large shadow. I can tell he is already inside the elevator, so I hurry to get in as well.
Not wanting to see him, I get inside and go to the opposite end of the elevator. Once the elevator reaches his lab, we bot get out silently, him first, and me following him for behind. A part of me is disgusted by my submission to him, but my human instinct tells me, this is the only way I will live. We walk past his array of computers where he stops for a few seconds to type something into the computer.
Then, again he starts walking. Raising my head up, I see we are now inside the aquarium section of his lap, the familiarity makes me slightly relieved and confused.
I can see we are reaching the bridge I fell off of before, and I shiver from the memory.
As if sensing my fear Mr Lodon suddenly stops. I stop right behind him, not wanting to make any sudden movements.
"Do you remember this place?" He asks, slowly turning around. His face isn't smiley, but it isn't completely stoic either .
"Ye..yes." I stugger.
"Good." He says, with a smile, taking a large step to stand right in front of me.
"Wha- ARGH." I'm completely caught off guard as he quickly bends down and picks me up bridal style. Well it would have looked like that if I wasn't struggling so much.
"Lesson one."
His voice so close to me, causes me to look up at him. He is smiling down at me, now that I can see the curves of his lips up close, I know it isn't sincere.
It's sinister.
"Dont get eaten."
My confusion is left unanswered as I am flung into the water below. The water in which stay the adult sharks. Opening my eyes, I dont let my body adjust to the water, I'm already trying to swim to the surface. Just as I bring my arms down to propel myself upward, I see a jet of grey pass me. I whip my head to the side, only to see the jaws of the shark opening just before it attacks.
