CHAPTER 18

What is he doing here?

“Anong ginagawa mo rito?” Her voice has no emotion whatsoever.

Shannon seems taken aback by her nonchalant voice but after a second, he smiled. “I’m here for you, Kuting.

She chuckled humorlessly. “Is that the joke of the day?” Her voice was full of sarcasm. “Because I’m not laughing.”

“Sarah. Respect our guest.

“Get out, please.”

“Why are you being like this, Kuting?” “I came here for you at ito ang isasalubong mo sa’kin? Did something happen in your medication that you’re acting this way?”

She took a deep breath to calm her heart. “Shannon, nothing happened. Can’t you see?” “I’m fine. I’m healthy and I’m happy. Now, please do me a favor and get out of my room.”

Shannon was looking at her; confusion was visible on his beautiful eyes. “Bakit mo ba ako tinutulak palayo. Don’t you love me anymore? Is this a joke because it’s not funny, Kuting.

“Stop calling me that!” “Don’t call me that again, Shannon.

“What?! Stop playing games with me, Sarah. This is not funny.”

“I’m not kidding, Shannon. Umalis ka na. You’re not needed here. I don’t need you. We’re done. I don’t love you anymore.” She lied.

“Just like that?” He asked, bewildered.

“Yes. Just like that.”

I can’t believe you did that to me. I deserve an explanation too, Shannon.” A tear fall down to her cheek and she quickly wipe it away. “You didn’t visit me in the Hospital. You know our address but you never came. I waited and waited and waited for you to call, for you visit me, for you to come. But you didn’t! Now, you’re asking me to explain why I don’t love you anymore? Shannon, it’s self-explanatory. Now, get out of my room!”

Shannon grabbed her arm and pulled her closer to him. “You think that’s enough reason for you to stop loving me?! You must be kidding. I was busy with Dr. Rodriguez trial! And I was busy trying to defend myself in court!”
