CHAPTER 19

“Kuting?”

“Yeah?”

“Anong balak mo sa’ting dalawa?”

Napatingin siya sa mukha nito. “Anong ibig mong sabihin?”

“Well, I’ll be here for the next three months, but I won’t be here forever.” Wika ni Shannon at tiningnan siya. “Are you staying here? Alam kung hindi mo kayang iwan ang mga magulang mo. I’m just asking kung anong balak mo. Are we going to part ways? Kasi kung tatanungin mo ako, ayokong magkalayo tayo.”

Ibinalik niya ang tingin sa kalangitan. “Shannon, distant relationship is never a good thing.”

“I’m not suggesting that.”

“Honestly, I don’t know.”

Sarah was enjoying the peaceful breeze of air when suddenly, Shannon asked.

“Will you marry me, kuting?”

Sarah froze in shock. She opened her mouth to talk but no word comes out.

Shannon sat up then leaned in to her. Sarah can smell Shannon’s minty breath and his lips were so close to hers, it’s making her heart beat rapidly.

“S-Shannon…”

He smiled and moved his face closer to hers. “I know that you’re not the kind of girl who needs sentimental crap to be happy. Sinabi mo na yun sa akin at isinaulo ko yun. That’s why I’m here, asking you to marry me. No flowers. No expensive date. No champagne. No sweet nothings. Just simply me, Shannon San Diego, the man who loves you very much.”

Her face broke into smile. Her heart was soaring in the sky as she looked at the man she loves.

“Wala ka man lang bang singsing diyan?” Nakangiting tanong niya.

Shannon shook his head. “Wala. As I said, it’s just me.”

“Why would I say yes? Please, do enlighten me, bwesit.

“Well…” Shannon trailed while caressing her face. “We will be together for as long as god allowed us to be. We will have our cute little Shannon and Sarah running around the house. You will have a full access to my very hot body. You will be Mrs. Sarah San Diego. At aabutan tayo ng gabi kapag inisa-isa ko ang rason kung bakit ‘oo’ dapat ang sagot mo.”

Sarah grinned. “You know, I have one reason why I should say yes that you forgot to mention.”

Shannon looked confused. “And that is?”

“I love you.”

Shannon’s eyes glisten in happiness. “And I love you too.”

Their lips meet and Sarah sighed in contentment. When Shannon pulled away, he grinned happily at her. “So, is that a yes?”

Sarah nodded. “Yes. I will marry you.”

Shannon stands up and twirled around like an insane person. She just looked at him, laughing.
