(Andy's POV)

I pushed the door open, it was dark outside, the night was ready to consume us, trees moving in the wind creating a hypnotising spectacle of shadows, drawing me into them, making everything seem unreal. I thought I saw the boys being here to take me back, it looked like they floated to me, but of course they weren't an approaching car destroyed the shadow with its lights. 'Why would they? They wanted me gone, I shouldn't return.' These thoughts started to consume me as the wind picked up more making the dance of the shadows look frantic. Shadows consuming each other, becoming one and then separating again. A dangerous spectacle, a mirror of my own life right now. The lights of cars passing by fighting against the shadows, but soon the light faded away. A silent drizzle making shadows fade for a fracture of a second when car lights found a raindrop on one of the leaves or needles that had already won against the cold lingering winter breathe telling the story that spring was to arrive soon.

Howling like wolves the trees moved in the cold air luring heat from our bodies until blue replaced the soft pink on our cheeks. The moon fighting against the darkness winning – temporarily – making everything glow a little, letting the shadows get clearer as the wolves started to howl louder, it getting ear deafening. And then the darkness won against the light drowning it out, the howls got unregular and the shadows started to fade into the background again.

"Andy," my mom said, waving her hands in front of my face, the shadows followed her movements, I lost myself more and more to them, "is everything alright?"

I tried to focus on them, back on reality, but the shadows had power over me, my mother and my best friend seemed to slowly fade into the shadows as well. They started to consume me, I need to get away from them, away from the shadows.

"Let's go," Iris said, "let's reunite you with your b..."

This pulled me back into reality and I put my hand on her mouth just in time and looked at here slowly shaking my head in terror, 'no, don't tell my mom that. She doesn't even know I am gay and I don't want her to know that I have a fucking crush on him. On my bandmate and best friend out of all people on this world.'

I could see her chuckling a little, 'a crush? I would say that is way more than a crush,' she clearly wanted to answer, but at least she didn't say it out loud, I was thankful for that.

My mother looked at me pulling up one eyebrow, "reunite you with whom?"

I looked at my best friend first and then at my mother, 'why, does this always need to happen to me out of all people. Why couldn't she just have ignored it.'

"With the boys." I grinned at my mother hoping to convince her that that was exactly what Iris wanted to say. 'At least boys and boyfriend both start with the same latter.' The shadows formed what looked like a wolf tearing apart a small child, 'I guess I saw too many horror movies in the last few months,' my own mind was playing tricks on me. She didn't question it further, but I could see in her eyes, that she knew it wasn't the truth. And she questioned why I didn't tell her about it, I am honest about basically everything else with her. So, I set up my mind, to tell her the next time I would get back home. When I finished this thought, I realised that despite everything I still expected to stay with the boys to still be a band, I really hoped we would. They were incredibly important to me and I knew I had to apologise to them for what I said.
