"How dare you come in here and one of the first things you say to me after 20 odd years is complain about how hard your life was! You have NO idea how hard it was for us when you left! How hard is was for me! Watching other little girls brag about they new hairstyle their mums learnt or being the only kid in school without a mum! You left us! Dad had to work 2 jobs to provide for us!" Ellie was out of breath her hands balled by her side like she's ready to pounce.

"Are you engaged?" Her mother asks shocked Ellie laughs and turns to look at me "is she serious? I just shouted at her and the only thing she cares about is if I'm engaged" I didn't know what to say. What are you meant to say? When your fiancé is stood in front of you anger radiating off her.

"I'm sorry Ellie" her mother spoke again
"It's Eleanore to you. Only my friends and family can call me Ellie" she spat back.
"Let's just get Valerie and leave" I spoke putting my hand on her shoulder
"Who's Valerie? Ell.. Eleanor I'm sorry please give me a chance.. I'm sorry I can't imagine how hard it was for you. Please give me a chance to explain" her mother spoke up again but Ellie walked away.
"I'm sorry. Please tell her I'm sorry" she spoke to me.
"Look I don't know you. I don't know anything about you. But your upsetting my fiancé. So I suggest you just leave and don't try and find us again." I spoke coldly turning around with Valerie's stroller and everything else and going to find Ellie.

I find her in her old office feeding Valerie tears rolling down her face.
"Hey baby don't cry" I rush over to her and wipe her tears
"I just can't believe her Harvey. Who the does she think she is!" I pull her in close to me being careful of our daughter who is still feeding
"I know babe I know" I run my hand through her hair trying to calm her down
"Tell you what why don't we let my mom have Valerie for the night, you can express milk, and we can have a couple of drinks and just relax? We can even do some wedding planning?" I ask watching the anger slowly leaving her eyes and being replaced with a sad yet small smile.
"Okay" she unlatches Valerie and burps her before kissing her head and putting her back into her stroller and we walked home no more signs of Ellie's mother
