"She said no" the detective says shocked. She is really getting into the story now and wants to know the ending. "That must have been hard"

"It was... but then again. I was 22 years old. I was young and thought I was in love" Emma replied looking up at her.

"You said you were in love with her though" the detective questioned.

"I was. I am. I moved back in with the girls. Penny was meant to be moving out anyway since she had a job offer in Boston. I didn't see Regina again for another 3 years" Emma says upset about this time of her life.

"Where" the detective enthusiastically asked.

"A town meeting. Regina had them every few years or if there was something important in town happening. Since I'm sheriff I have to go" Emma sighed.

I knew I was late. I slowly opened the door to make sure I'm not loud. I walk in quietly and went to the chairs. Regina looked up and saw me. She stopped talking and I looked at her. I smiled slightly at her. She looked back at the paper in front of her and started talking again. I sighed and sat in the seat at the back. After about half hour the meeting came to an end.

"That will be all everyone. Thank you for coming. If you have any questions about what I said today then don't hesitate to ask" Regina says as she stood on the stage with a soft smile.

Everyone stood up and started to leave. I walked past everyone to get to the stage. I looked up at her and waited for her to turn round.

"Gina" I say making her jump.

She turned round quickly to me and looked scared.

"Don't fucking scare me like that... and it's madam mayor" she says straightening her outfit.

"Really? You never liked me calling you that when we dated" I replied with a small smirked.

She sighed and rolled her eyes. She turned around to finish packing her papers. I jumped up onto the stage and walked around to be in front of her. She sighed again and looked down.

"What are you doing miss swan" Regina says a little annoyed.

"Why you so annoyed at me"

"I'm not" she bluntly answered.

"Sure your not" I sarcastically say leaning against the table.

"Emma come on. I'm busy. Why are you here" she sighed.

"To say hi. I haven't spoken to you in years"

"Well now you have said it" she replied as she started walking to the stairs.

"Why are you the one mad at me? Your the one who shut me down" I say jumping of the stage and landing in front of her.

"And I said I was sorry. Why are you still bugging me" she asks trying to move me out of her way.

"Look. Don't be like this" I softly say.

"Fine. Emma what do you want? If it's not important I have to go"

"Can we talk when your not busy then"

"Fine" she hesitantly replied. "I'm free at 3 today. Come then"

"Thank you"

"But one thing. Don't ask me to marry you again" she says smirking.

"Not funny" I replied but she was still giggling.

"Whatever. As I said at 3 o'clock. If your not there then I can't help you" Regina says walking to the exit.

She left the room with me just stood watching. I don't know why I want to talk to her. I don't know what I want to say. All I want to know is why she said no when I asked her to marry me. We were so happy on that date that I don't know why.

I left the town hall and went to work. My deputy Killian is a close friend of mine and he knew everything. I walked in and he smiled at me. I sat down on my chair next to him and put my feet up on the desk.

"How was it" he asked.

"Boring. I know why she doesn't do them more often. There is no way you can make that less boring" I sighed.

"No I meant seeing Regina. How was it"

"I thought it would be harder than it was. At 3 we are gonna go talk in her office. She seems annoyed with me though" I replied moving my feet to the ground.

"Why? She's the one who turned you down" Killian asked confused.

"That's what I said. Anyway I will figure out what happened between us later" I say standing up.

"You want a donut" he asked holding the box to me.

"Why offer me one just before I start working out" I asked laughing.

"Cause I'm an asshole. You sure you don't want one" he says shaking the box in front of me.

"Bastard" I laughed. I went on the floor and started doing push-ups. "I'll have one after"

"I'll have one now and one after your work out" he laughed before bitting his donut.

"And they say I'm a child"

"You are"

Once I finished my work out I ate my donut. I worked for a few hours until I had to leave to go see Regina. I drove to her office and parked outside. I walked in to see her secretary typing on the computer.

"Well hi Emma" she says smiling at me.

"Hey. Can I go see her now"

"Umm... 3 o'clock. Yep" she smiled with a nod.

"Thanks Debi. Is she in a good mood"

"When is she" she laughed. "Don't tell her I said that" Debi quickly adds.

"I need to talk to her. I'm not gonna put her in a bad mood" I laughed.

"Thank you. Good luck"

I smiled and opened the door. Regina looked up annoyed at me. Crap. I forgot to knock.

"Thank you for knocking miss swan" she sarcastically says.

I sighed and walked to her desk.

"Can I sit" I asked. Regina nods softly and I sat down. "Are you alright" I asked.

"I'm fine. You" she bluntly answered.

"Yeah"

"Why are you here" she sighed.

"I got questions. Please let me ask them" I softly request.

"If you must" She hesitantly replied.

"Why did you say no"
