I had so much to ask him and still didn't know how to react. We started to walk down the road, in search for cover. "How are you still alive? I haven't seen another human in so long, then you just randomly appeared." That's the only thing I could find reasonable to ask.

"Before, I guess you can call this the apocalypse, I was in a band. I had always looked to music to get me through hard times and to prevent me from destroying myself. It taught me that you don't always need other people to survive. I guess that's how I'm still alive. How about you?"

"Well, everyone that I loved and cared about is now gone and I thought I was the only one left. I figured if I'm the only one left, why not fight for the human race as a whole. Why just give up, right?"

I remembered the hug I gave him, not too long ago, and how he hugged me back. I know that I can trust him and that from now on we will protect each other. I don't know how I knew that I could trust him so much, though. I mean, we just met and barely said anything. How did I know?

"Do you ever have fun, or is everything always about survival to you?" He asked with a smirk on his face. I knew what he was thinking just by his expression.

"I haven't had fun in a really long time, to be honest. Why? Have you?"

"Let me ask you a question. If we are stuck, fighting for our lives day to day, why not have fun with it?" He did have a point, "What if I said that we are going to have some fun today? Would you like that?"

"Yea, sure. What are we doing?"

"Oh, you'll see."

I had no idea what he was going to do, but I was about to find out, and I was kinda excited to see.
