Chapter XXV- Craving

Cross' P.O.V

I'm starving! Everyday I go through morning sickness, tiredness, hunger and I keep eating weird food which taste incredible. I've grown fatter and I can't do shit about it! Why the hell do I have to go through this!? I dragged myself down the great hall of Dream's and Nightmare's castle. I reached the dining room to see everyone and food already there. I sat myself down, took a helping of pancakes and drowned them with chocolate and sprinkled them with cheese.

"Are you really going to eat that?" Nightmare asked. He watched me put a piece in my mouth and shudder in disgust. We just ate silently with a few small talks here and there. After finishing my glass of juice I stood from my seat and headed for the library. Sadly, I don't know where it is.

"Where are you going?" Dream asked and trailed behind me.

"Library, heard you had a huge one and for a fact, I enjoy reading" I answered.

"You're going the wrong way" Dream stopped me.

"Thought so.." I sighed. Dream grabbed my hand and dragged me in the opposite direction of where I was going.

I let him since he knew where to go. Once there I thanked him and walked in to see book heaven. I heard paper flipping and followed the sound that lead near the fire. I saw a very familiar figure. I got closer and saw it was Nightmare. He held a book with a wolf cover.

I got closer and he looked up for a split second before he panicked. He tried to hide the book but to no avail. I giggled.

"H-hey C-Cross, w-whats up?" Nightmare laughed nervously.

"So, you're a bookworm too huh?" I looked at the shelves. I grabbed a book and saw a story about two monsters. One dressed in blue and one dressed in grey. The blue monster was an innocent, kind, heroic and naive little soul with dark secrets. The grey one was a killer, he was cruel til he met the blue monster. Apparently its a love story.

I grabbed another book that was about this fox that fell in love with a wolf. I walked over to Nightmare and sat down next to him. Nightmare smiled softly and we read our books in silence. Well, was silent.

"Hey Night! Bookworm! C'mon! We gotta head out to the other village! They all left for vacation and we can loot it!" Dust called. Nightmare closed his book and stood from his chair.

I grabbed his shirt and whimpered. He looked down at me.

"Cross?"

"....Don't go....please..." I pleaded.

"Sorry Crossy, I have to, I have a job to do" he made me loosen my grip and walked out of the library. I frowned.

".........Come back safe...."

Timeskip to 1 month~

He's been gone for so long. Did he get hurt? Did he die? No, don't think negatively. He's probably in a village, on his way back.

I was eating quietly and Dream felt my sadness.

"Its okay, he'll be back soon" Dream tried to make me feel better. I just shook my head.

"W-what if he doesn't come back? What if I give birth to our child without him? What if he never comes back? What if he cheats on me?" Tears streamed down my cheeks.

Dream muttered something incoherent and rose from his seat. He went out of the dining room. I just layed my head down and cried softly.

Then I suddenly felt angry. I got up and paced the room.

"He wouldn't dare. If he does cheat on me so help me I'll cut off his dick, feed it to the sharks and make our child fatherless!" I growled. Then I felt sad again.

"I'm a horrible father. No wonder he didn't come back!" I cried again. I rose from my seat and walked towards our chambers. When I say our I mean mine and Nightmare's. We sleep together. I went through all the halls and into the room. Everything was dark and I just walked straight and bumped into something.

I found that weird as nothing would be in the middle of the room. So, I did what every person would do. I punched the person in well, what I assumed was the face. It was dark so I couldn't see.

The person fell back from the impact with a groan. I carried the person in a rugby position and threw him out the room. "Ouch!" The person yelped. I walked towards the bed got inside and sighed. I layed there for a few seconds before getting up.

"Who in the fuck would come into here?" I asked aloud. Not that anyone would hear me. Where is Nightmare when you need him to protect you?

"Why am I even in bed? To see him in some dreamland? Hell no, what shit am I even talking about?" I don't even know anymore.

"Woah! Chill child.........WE HAVEN'T EVEN NAMED YOU!!" I facepalmed. My child kicked.

"Argh, dammit Nightmare. How do I name a child when his or her father isn't even here! I swear I might actually make this child fatherless!" I threw a pillow at the wall. I decided to leave again and get that weird combination of food.

I got to the kitchen and passed by a chef. I grabbed the cheese, whipped cream and chocolate syrup. I walked out and sat on the sofa. I didn't notice someone sit next to me. I just took a new book out of my cloak and flipped through silently.

The person sitting next to me coughed. I didn't look at them. They coughed again but fakely. I frowned and didn't look up. They tapped my shoulder. I growled and looked up.

"What the fuck do you want-" My jaw dropped.

"Heya Crossy"

The person grinned. I blinked and poked him. He's real.

I smiled brightly and hugged him. He hugged back. Then I saw Dream and the rest of the crew join us.

"Wait, you knew he was back?" I asked Dream. Dream nodded. I looked at Nightmare and slapped him.

"Ow!" He yelped in surprise.

"What was that for?" Nightmare asked.

"For fucking leaving me for 1 month and not helping me name the baby even though you were here!" I got up and whacked Dream on the skull.

"Ow!" Dream cried.

"For not telling me even though you knew I was depressed!" I growled.

"Fuck this shit I'm out!" I stormed out of the room incredibly pissed. "Cross wait!" I stopped. I turned around to face him. "What?!" I yelled. Nightmare brought me into a soft, sweet kiss. All of my anger left me.

"I did come up with a name" Nightmare grinned. "And?" I asked. "Incubux" I smiled and gave him a hug.

"The whole reason I was gone for so long was because I went around looking for this" I glanced down and saw a ring with a black pearl. I gasped. "I-Is this?" I looked at Nightmare with tears in my eyesockets. He nodded and went on one knee.

"Will you marry me?" Nightmare held my hand gently. Tears were pouring out of my eyes.

"Yes yes yes!! You won't die after all!" I kissed him. He kissed back. Then he pulled away in surprise.

"What?"

"Ehehehehe......nevermind"

I slid the ring onto my finger as everyone cheered.

"Finally! My brother isn't a sad, lonely, emo anymore!" Dream cheered.

We all laughed as Nightmare looked pissed.

"DREAM!!!" Nightmare chased Dream as he sprinted away.
