Shawn lay on his bed, arms crossed under his head. His eyes were closed as he chewed on some sort of chocolate.
“You need to quit eating in my room,” I commented as I plugged in my earbuds and scrolled through songs on my i-pod.
“You mean our room,” Shawn chuckled. I rolled my eyes and turned away. I reached for the chocolates on the table to find them all gone. I pulled out my earbuds and glared at Shawn as he plopped the last one into his mouth.
“What the hell! That was the last one! I didn’t have one!” I yelled in frustration.
Shawn turned to me with a surprised look on his face, which eventually turned into a smirk. I didn’t like the look of that.
“Then you can have it,” Shawn grabbed the front of the shirt and pulled. I really wasn’t expecting this so I lost my balance and collapsed on him. He crashed his lips onto mine. My eyes widened when I felt his tongue pass the chocolate into my mouth. Even though the overall gesture might seem disgusting when you think about it, it was still amazing.
I pulled back a bit, pushing myself up to see his face. I could feel the string of saliva trail from my mouth to his. I couldn’t help but smile. When I saw him smirk and raise an eyebrow at me and was forced to bury my face in the crook of his neck so he wouldn’t see me blushing.
We stayed that way for a while and fell asleep together.
~*TIME LAPSE*~
“There is no way we are getting a dog,” my dad countered. Mom and Dad have been arguing about whether or not to get a dog. Honestly, I don’t really care. But since I live here, I had to make a choice. What’s so bad about a dog anyways?
Both Shawn and I voted for a dog on Mom’s side. Dad was furious and stormed off. It was really stupid thought because later, Dad came back with some research on which types of dogs are best.
My parent’s decided it would be up to Shawn and me to buy a dog by the end of the week. Great. Now Shawn’s going be all like, “We’re going on a date!” and stuff which can be annoying.
“Well, c’mon Travis, we’re going to get a dog!” Shawn beamed.
“What are you so happy for?” I rolled my eyes and slipped on my shoes.
“Because dogs are great! I always wanted a dog but my parents always objected,” Shawn sighed.
“Whatever, let’s go.”
Shawn and I left the house and walked to the bus stop. Honestly, I wish I could be like Shawn sometimes. He was so carefree and merry all the time. It was basically impossible for me. It just wasn’t a Travis thing.
After so many years, the blame I put on myself have still clung to me, never letting go. But after I met Shawn, I felt like a huge rock was lifted off my chest. But even then, I just can’t bring myself to be so joyous. I’ve made many enemies over the school years and everyone knows me for how bad I am.
