It has been weeks since Liam got mad at Ms. Harrison for a horrible reason on his birthday. He is trying to find a way to apologize to the young and kind nanny, but the words stops in their track in his throat when he see the young woman. He quickly disappears into his private office to work on something or into his private gym to work out his confusion about his feelings for the young beautiful woman with punches to the punching bag or running miles on the treadmill. He could see she is avoiding him by leaving him a plate of pancakes and a lunch on the island.
He walks in the lounge room with his MacBook Pro laptop in hand to see Ms. Harrison playing the toy drum with Bear. He smiles softly at his son laughing when Destiny makes funny faces at him and plays the toy drum with him. He opens his laptop and logins as he begins to work on his new business plan when Destiny glances up at him and gets up from the floor. He is become frustrated with this game.
He grabs her wrist and gets up from the couch as he says in a snippy tone, "I am so damn tired of this bloody game! This whole silent treatment is absolutely stupid."
Destiny's eyes narrows into slits as she snatches her wrist out of his grip and snaps, "So, I'm not allowed to be upset about how you treated me on your birthday!" She backs away from and folds her arms over her chest as she says in an equally snippy tone, "I don't want to be around you right now! If you treated me with a little more respect, I wouldn't have to give you the silent treatment!" She looks away from him to gather her composure before she looks at him again and says in the same snippy and cold tone, "I am trying to do my job without any distraction!"
Liam knows she is right about everything. She is right about being allowed to be upset about his behavior on his birthday. She is right about how he has been treating her and deserving the silent treatment from her. He doesn't think she is right about doing her job without any distraction because he would find himself fantasizing about her at work and most of the times in his dreams.
He shakes in his head in frustration and slams his laptop close as he walks out of the lounge room and heads to his office to be alone.
Destiny stands there in confusion and bites her bottom lip slightly. She looks in the direction he left the room and sighs in frustration.
She just couldn't figure him out. One minute, he is so kind and warm, and then the next, he is cold and rude. But somehow she is addicted to the quick switch in his behavior, and she likes a challenge. He is next level challenge.
She always thinks he is a very handsome man, and she can see the good in him, but he doesn't like to show. She just doesn't understand why he is so unhappy, and she absolutely just wants the best for him. She actually believes he has his love and sensibility stored in the back of his mind in shackles, and she can almost see in his eyes that they're trying to escape and reveal themselves to her and the world. It upsets her that he is so unhappy, and without a doubt, it depresses her that she might not be able to help him because he is so harsh towards her.
At the end of the day, she knows that he doesn't feel the same way about her because she is the nanny and nothing else. She tries to force the feelings away because she has a job to do, and there's no time for tears and relationships. She just needs focus on what is at hand, but somehow she couldn't.
She is not like Mr. Payne; she wears her heart on her sleeve and is pretty much not afraid of showing her feelings except this time.
Tears begins to stream down her face as she collapses onto her knees and sobs loudly into her hands.
Liam stops halfway through the hallway to hear crying from the lounge room as he turns back in the direction of the lounge room and heads back to the room. He peeks into the room to see it is Miss Harrison who is crying. He realizes that he is hurting her by not showing his true feelings for her.
He is just afraid that he be replacing his wife, Sophia with Destiny.
