Mark woke up from a shitty sleep. He wasn't feeling up to much of anything today.
The night before he tossed and turned forever. He couldn't get Sean out of his head.
He still forced himself to get up, shower, get dressed, and eat. He knew he couldn't already let himself slack.

He was earlier on his schedule than usual, but he still left his house and headed to the groups normal meeting point.
Once he gets there he notices someone out of the ordinary next to Sean.
Odd, he thought. Maybe it was someone new they had met.
Once he arrives Sean speaks, "Alright, guys, I want you all to meet my girlfriend, Sarah."
Mark's world halted. Why did he have to figure out his feelings and then get hit with this?
He looks to Felix and Felix sees the broken look on his face.
The man stands closer to Mark and keeps a protective hand on his arm.
Mark forces a smile when Sean looks at him but it falls right when his eyes are off of him. When they leave for their coffee Mark stays with Felix and doesn't talk to much of the group. He completely avoids Sean and Sarah.

Felix walks out with him towards school since he already received he and Mark's coffees. They leave the rest behind and find a secluded spot in the front yard.
"Mark, I'm so sorry. I had no idea, if I knew I would've never said what I did."
Mark smiles softly, "This isn't your fault at all, Fe, like you said you didn't even know. You're here for me, though. That's what matters."
"Do you want me to come over tonight? I can sleep over."
"I'd love that."
The bell rings and the two head off to their first classes.
Felix doesn't say anything about Mark, but Sean does.
"Hey, is Mark okay?"
"Yeah, he's just going through something right now, don't worry about it."
Sean was very worried, though. Mark wasn't coming to him for whatever this was and it really sucked. They were best friends. Sean shrugged it off and texted Sarah asking if she wanted to hang tonight.

The second period rolls around and Mark is dreading it. He walks in and sits next to Sean and pushes his feelings as far down as he can.
Sean seems cautious, but Mark doesn't have enough mental energy to ask what's going on.
In reality, Mark looks completely terrifying. He looks pissed and sad. Sean has no idea how to go about saying anything about that.

Mark focuses on the lesson being taught but every time he finally lets his mind go he feels like he could cry so he snaps back to reality.
Sean occasionally glances at Mark, the man looks completely distraught and looks like he could fall apart at any moment.
Right when Sean was ready to say something, the bell rang and Mark was gone in a flash.
He didn't even glance back at Sean, which hurt, a lot.

Mark immediately got to his third class and put his head down. Felix's heart hurt at the sight.
He put a hand on Mark's back and rubbed it gently, "It's okay, Mark, I'm here. I promise."
Soon after, Mark sits up and puts on a smile, a genuine one.
"Thank you for that."
"It's no problem, you excited for tonight?"
"Fuck yeah, I am!"
"That's my guy!"

The last class came by and the group sat at their pushed together desks. Mark sat in between Ken and Felix, as unbeknownst to him, Sarah was in the class and now in his original spot.
Felix and Mark were joking about the bald teacher who looked like Steve Job's forgotten brother when Ken passed a note to Mark.
Mark opened it and it read "You like Sean don't you?"
Mark folded the note back quickly and shoved it in his pocket but nodded at Ken.
Ken smiled knowingly, but it was more of a sympathetic smile. He placed his hand over Mark's.
"I'm here for you, too."
"Thank you, you're the best."
Marzia piped in, "What's going on?"
Ken looked for approval which Mark granted and Ken whispered in her ear, her face fell.
"Oh, Mark."
"It's okay, really."
She turned to dig in her bag and pulled out his favorite candy. It was something they did for each other in case of situations like this.
Mark took it happily and began munching on them.
They then went on to a conversation about why it makes no sense that Mercedes has 3 e's in it that are all pronounced differently.

After school Mark and Felix went back to Mark's house instead of going with the rest to eat. They went up to his room and started playing random games.
Then Mark had an idea.
"Dude my mom has alcohol."
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"
Mark nodded with a goofy grin on his face.

TW If you don't like drinking don't read below!

Mark opened his pantry and Felix looked amazed, "These whiskeys look amazing!"
"I thought you'd enjoy that." Mark smiled triumphantly.

They chose a bottle, grabbed some food, and headed back upstairs.

After several shots, they were getting pretty shitfaced.
Felix was now shirtless with his shirt hanging from the TV for whatever reason. They were both laying on Mark's bed talking about nothing in particular.
"Felix, I think Marzia likes you."
"Nah no way man."
"Dude, I swear."
"I bet you if I call her right now she won't agree."
"You wouldn't dare!"
"Give me another shot and let's see." Mark obliged and after a few minutes, Felix was hovering his finger over the call icon on Marzia's contact.
He finally presses call and it doesn't take long for her to answer.
"Felix?"
"U-um hi." He slurs.
"Are you drunk?"
"That's beside the point."
"What is the point then?"
"I really like you."
Before she can answer he panics and ends the call.
"Well SHIT"
Mark giggles, "You're something else."
Soon after Felix falls asleep, but Mark doesn't. He really can't. Sean is all in his head.
The alcohol was wearing off and that didn't help at all. Each thought he had of getting to be with Sean ended with Sarah coming to take him away.

Mark rolled over close to Felix who dropped his arm over him and Mark finally drifted off into sleep.
