CUT MY LIP

Rust around the rim,
Drink it anyway
I cut my lip
Isn't what I want
Blood is on my tongue
I cut my lip

The next day for school Sean forced himself to go. He knew he was going to have to be extra careful but he just wanted to at least see Mark.
He hadn't heard from Sarah but he didn't really mind, at least she had time to calm down.
Sean got to school and walked in and saw Sarah, but he also saw Mark and they were facing each other. They both looked like at any moment one could jump on the other and pound the other's face in. Sean got a bit closer and could finally hear their conversation.
"So you used a fake number to prove I'm fucking gay and to lead my heart on?!"
"I sure did, and your hopeless self-fell for it!" Sarah practically wheezed with laughter.
Mark lunged at her but before he could land any hit Marzia stopped him and looked him in the eye.
"Breathe before you do something stupid. I love you. I love you, Mark."
Mark's breathing steadies out and Marzia pushes him into Felix's arms and Marzia steps up really close to Sarah's face.
"Now, listen here, you are done hurting my boys. I mean all of them if you say one more thing and you anger me any further you are going to regret it."
Mark would've cooed at how cute she sounded but it was such a serious situation he couldn't really react.
They were lucky the teachers didn't care what you did before class because this would've already been broken up.
Sarah scoffs, "What are you gonna do? I'll just hurt them all really bad again and all you can do is watch."
Marzia smiles, "You know who my boyfriend is, right?"
Sarah is confused, "Um, yeah?"
"I punch just as hard as him." Marzia swings and smiles when she hears a crack from Sarah's nose and throws an extra one for good measure and leads her friends away. Sarah stands there stunned and Sean rushes off so he doesn't have to help her.
Some random cheerleader leads Sarah off to the bathroom to help her clean up. Sarah doesn't go to the office that day because she knows they have more against her than she does them.

The last class happens and they are at their normal table and Sarah refuses to look their way. Sean is with her again and flinches almost any time Sarah moves, which goes unnoticed by Sarah.

Mark is still pretty shaken up but he keeps it bottled up like always. He couldn't believe he was so mad he was ready to lay his hands on a female. She just had upset him so much he almost blacked out and did something dumb. He glanced over at Marzia and felt an overwhelming feeling of adoration. She's always there even if she is endangering herself. He looked down at her knuckles and absentmindedly grabbed her hand and gently ran his fingers over the wounds.
She smiled down at his hand and continued her conversation. She knew Mark was in his own world right now and to not interrupt his thoughts. Felix noticed, too, and was so happy that Mark was still here breathing.
Ken was playing with Mark's way overgrown hair and adding comments into Felix and Marzia's conversation.

The bell rings and the group gathers their things and leaves. Marzia is the last out and Sarah glances at her, Marzia glares her way and walks away with attitude in her step.

"Let's go out somewhere nice to eat!" Ken suggests, they all agree and shove their stuff in their lockers and walk to their mall plaza and go into the Red Robin's.
They are seated shortly after and order their drinks. Everyone focuses on the menu and finds a nice meal to satisfy them.

They order and talk while they wait.
Mark speaks first, "So, today was eventful, huh?"
"I didn't know Marzia had it in her," Ken adds.
"It was pretty hot." Felix smirks, "Especially when you mentioned me."
She blushes and Felix kisses her cheek and mumbles an 'I love you' to her.

They finish their food and pay and leave a nice tip. They leave and decide to stay the night at Ken's. They can all crash in the basement and it's really nice in general to be able to be together.
They automatically start playing random video games and Mark excludes himself but lays on Ken's lap and in-between games Ken plays with his hair.
"Should I get a haircut after school tomorrow?"
Ken sighs sadly, "If you want to, yes. I'll go with you since Felix and Marzia have a date."
"It will be our own date, then." Mark giggles which cheers Ken up.

The next day comes too quickly and Mark is pouting because he wanted more sleep. He doesn't talk to anyone because he woke up on the wrong side of the bed so they all hurry up and get ready. They grab a snack and head to the coffee shop so Mark can be himself, again.
Mark finishes his coffee quickly after it cools down enough and he immediately feels better. He jumps around all his friends and they laugh at him softly.
"You're too precious for this world, Mark, I swear."

Felix goes off to his first class and Sean is forced to sit by him because the whole class is full. Felix doesn't choose to be angry about it he just does his work accordingly but when he goes to grab something from his bag he swings his arm a bit close to Sean and notices he visibly flinches. Felix lays a confused look on the other man and Sean refuses to look at him. Sean had been on edge so bad, he was terrified to be hurt again. It wasn't Felix's fault, he knew why he was being hit, then. Sarah and her friend had made him afraid he would be hit for breathing the wrong way. He even felt like him being okay with dating a guy made him an easy target to be beaten.

Felix shrugs it off, Sean probably wouldn't want to talk about it.
Felix texts Marzia asking if she could possibly know anything.
He slides his phone back in his pocket just as it's time to go to his next class.

The rest of the morning flashes by and they're now at lunch.
Their holding neutral conversation which Mark notices that Sean is sitting at a table alone relatively close to them.
"Guys." Mark nods towards Sean and they all look the way he's referring to.
"That's weird, why isn't he with his girlfriend?"
"I probably know why," Marzia says her voice giving away that she's terrified.
She tells the full story starting from the phone call and by the end of it, the group is shocked.
Mark feels dread. He feels absolutely terrible. He was blaming Sean for everything when he didn't even know everything.

The last period comes and Sean is by himself again, Sarah doesn't even seem to care. She's with the same guy that hurt Sean and she is hugged up onto him now.
Sean stares over to her occasionally, she hadn't technically broken up with him but he knew for her it was over. He can't help but hurt from it.
He puts his head down and decides to think about things he likes and memories of the people he has lost.
Mark keeps glancing over to Sean longingly but focuses back onto his own conversation anyway.
Sean is falling apart and he can't force himself to do anything.

After school, Felix and Marzia went off on their date and Ken and Mark left to a hair salon. Ken decided he was going to get his hair trimmed up as well. They were seated separate from each other but texted each other while their hair was being taken care of.
Afterward, they stopped at DQ and enjoyed ice cream even though it's still freezing outside.

Sean was home. He didn't have anything to do. He probably wouldn't for a while.
He was lonely and at this point just wanted Mark.
He really loves Mark.
