HOOKS POV
I pulled into the animal centre's parking lot, making sure to avoid the curb (I had popped a tire last week, the bloody thing scared a bird away from the centre) and slipped into a parking space. One of cinderella's friends was managing the ground, and so I waited while he coached a small squirrel around a pothole. As soon as the little creature was in it's run, he wiped his hands and headed over to me. He took one look at the rabbit and raced into the first aid centre. While he was bandaging, my phone rang. Emma's face popped up on my screen, and I answered. It had been almost two hours since I head her voice, and a part of me was already missing her.
"Hello, love."
"Hey killian, how did things go with Robin?"
"Not as well as they could've, he ended up very upset, and he stormed away. I'm currently at animal rescue with a small rabbit, Robin had caught it in one of his traps, but he left before he could deal with it so it's getting patched up now."
"Oh, well he seemed stressed, but he any avoid Regina forever, or things just get worse for the both of them. Do you need me to pick you up, or?"
"It's alright love, David called to say he would pick up Henry for dinner with him and the family, so romantic night for two?" I suggested the idea because it had been a while since Emma and I had some real couple alone time, and I wanted a chance to talk with her about something other than problems.
"Yeah, my dad was saying that. I guess so, it's been a while so sure. Do you want to eat in or go out?"
"Let's stay in, I can try my hook at Italian."
I heard her laugh, and smiled. Whenever she laughed it put a smile on my face, knowing I could make her happy.
"Alright, just call me when you're ready. Regina is on the other line, so I better answer. I'll see you tonight, Killy."
"Tonight, my love," I whispered before turning the phone off. Mick was just heading out of the room, with a bandaged bundled in his hands.
"She's all patched up, but she'll need quite a bit of rest. You can either take her home with you, I have extra cages in the back, or you can leave her here. Either way, she needs to recuperate."
I thought of how happy Henry would be to see a rabbit when he came home, and smiled.
"I'll take her with me, just to make sure she's alright. What do I owe you?"
I paid for a bit of medical, got art with the supplies, and carried the small, warm animal out the door. As soon as the cages were in the trunk, I headed out of the parking lot, careful to avoid the curb.
I stopped by game of thorns to grab some roses for the night, then again at gold's. I wanted to look through the different jewel selection. With my hook on the counter, I browsed the many jewels, until I settled on a necklace with aquamarine jewels, set in a golden inlay, with a thin silver chain running through. It looked like something Emma would love, and so I wished the Golds a goodnight, and headed back to the flat.
The rabbit was asleep, knocked out from the operation and medication. I set the cage down by the door, and slipped the bunny in, still surrounded by it's blanket. I stopped to look at the picture of Henry and Emma, smiling, in front of the well in the woods. They looked so happy, and Emma's smile seemed so real, so happy. I was glad that she could finally be happy again. I picked up Henry's book, and brought it up to his room, along with his jacket. I filled a pan full of water, and set it down on the stove to boil. The roses were sprinkled throughout the flat, stopping around the bath. I would wait to light the candles until after supper, so they didn't melt. I may be an old fashioned man, but I knew how to treat a lady. The pasta was almost finished, so I called Emma, who was done work anyway. She was just waiting with Henry, so I had enough time to light a few more candles in the kitchen. As I walked in to our room to make the bed, I stopped to look around. This was our room, our things our home. We finally had what we had all waited so long for, a home. We had people who loved us, provision, and safety, and for once it seemed like it might be able to stay that way.
EMMA'S POV
I unlocked the door to the apartment, and saw killian surrounded by a warm glow of candles and music. He smiled at me, and stepped over to grab my coat.
"What is all this," I asked, smiling.
"It's our romantic night in, my lady. Feel freer to change into something more comfortable, or nothing at all?"he said, with a wink. I laughed, and headed over to the bathroom. I was about to open the door when an arm reached around my waist. Killian spun my around to face him, kissed him, smiled, and kissed me again.
"You can't go in there love, the surprise isn't ready."
I smiled and walked into our room. I changed into jeans and one of Killian's shirts. He smiled as I walked out, and poured wine into two glasses. I sat down across from him, and he tapped my glass in a toast.
"To a night we finally have to ourselves, and to the night itself."
I drank in response, and we spent the rest of supper enjoying the pasta that killian had actually made quite well. We laughed, and he recounted many stories from the Jolly Roger, all of which included many bloody hella, and curses. I loved watching his eyes as they lit up, the blue illuminated with joy, and hearing how excited his voice got at his favourite parts. He was like a kid again, speaking about his many trials and wins. As soon as we were done, he skipped over to the sink and dropped the dishes in, before hurrying up to the bathroom. After five minutes and a couple more exclamations of "bloody hell" and some splashing, he opened the door and called me up.
The bathroom was glowing with lights, and there was a star map lighting up the ceiling. Killian was sitting in the bubbles, waiting for me. He had a suit laid out for me, just in case I was uncomfortable. I smiled, and stripped down, before slipping on the two piece. I slid in beside him, and we sat in peaceful silence for a while, listening to the quiet night of storybrooke. When the water became cold, we got out, and he handed me a towel. We hurried into the bedroom, and I slipped on a singlet and some bottoms before hopping into bed. Killian sauntered in after blowing out all of the candles, removed his hook, and set it on the bedside table. He hopped into bed beside me, in his soft green pajama pants, and slid close to me. He wrapped his arm around my waist.
"I love you, Emma swan,"was the last thing I heard before drifting off to sleep
*somewhere in the woods*
"HELP"screamed a panicked voice, "can't someone hear me!?"
The figure chasing him sent one icy blast, and the voice fell to the ground, with a solid thud. He turned around, terror coursing through his veins.
"Who are you?"
"I'm the snow queen, but that won't matter in a few moments, because after that, all you'll feel is pain."
With a wicked grin, the snow queen reached down and tore out the ice cold heart.
The man gasped in pain, and lay half dead on the ground, as the ice travelled through his veins. His heart was frozen, and all he remembered was pain.
