Like I Can

Elissa's P.O.V

"Hey." I saw to Cody as I enter my dorm.

"Hey bæ." He answers. I know he's just joking around but for some reason it made me feel tingly.

"How was your day?" I ask not really knowing what to say.

"Well, other than the fact that I'm failing algebra, pretty good I guess." He answers.

"Yikes." I say.

I walk over to the bathroom to pick up some clothes lying on the floor.

"Ew." I whisper to myself as I pick up a pair of Liam's boxers.

I walk out and I'm instantly blinded! By Cody. He is turned around shirtless.

"You okay?" He chuckles as he turns around and catches me staring.

"Yeah, I was just thinking about stuff." I lie. Well not really cause I was thinking about his body.

"Oh." He says smiling like he doesn't believe me.

"What were you thinking about?" He asks as he lays down with me on my bed were I just laid down.

"Just stuff from back home." I make up. But then I begin to think of whats going on at home.

"Oh is everything okay?" He asks pulling my into a lying down hug. Is it hot in here or naww?

I stay silent for a couple of seconds thinking about what if my mom doesn't come home. What if she didn't run away, instead she was murdered? I finally decide to tell him, we're really good friends anyway.

"Well, earlier I got a call from my dad..." I pause and wipe away a tear. "And he told me...my mom disappeared." I finish.

"Oh my gosh. I'm so sorry." He says and looks into my eyes.

We stay like this for what feels like forever. Our bodies hugging, eyes locked. You can even feel our hearts beating, increasing speed by the minute.

Suddenly the door swings open and a whistling Liam ruins the moment.

Cody pulls away and stands up.

"Dude." Liam says.

"Yeah?" Cody says innocently.

"Nick's going to kill you if he finds our your hitting on her." Liam says taking a sip of a water bottle, which I'm assuming is his, lying on the counter.

"Woah. Dude we didn't even do..." Cody begins.

"Who says I'm his girl?" I interrupt.

"Every single person on this campus. Yeah, we know your a stupid b**** who doesn't want to date the guy who's perfect for, but everyone knows you're still his girl." Liam answers. Well he's being a huge jerk tonight!

"That makes no sense." Cody answers, he's right.

"Cause y'all just too dumb to under stand my sexy language." Liam says, making no sense what so ever again.

"Listen all I'm saying is that you need to back off her. She's off limits." He says and jumps onto his bed.

"Whatever." Cody says and lays back down on the bed with me, purposely getting under Liam's skin.

I'm not going to be off limits because I've told Nick multiple times that we need to stay friends.

I close my eyes and feel a body curling up into the shape of mine, real close. I smile as he puts his arm around me.

I look over and see he was starring at me but quickly turns around.

"What?" I ask. "Is there something on my face?"
