Dan: Skype session?
Phil: sure
Phil's face began to swell up with heat from texting Dan. Dan better have a good reason for not talking to me Phil thought to himself, even though he knew it sounded quite selfish. The pit of anxiety and anxiousness began to grow larger in Phil's stomach from what Dan's response would be. What if he was gone on holiday and had bad reception? Phil thought. Or maybe he just wants to give up on me.
Phil's hands were clammy from anxiousness about Dan and what he would say, what if he didn't even have an answer? Phil thought. Just then, Dan called.
"Hello, Phil," Dan said, his voice quite emotionless and his camera covered up.
"Um, hi Dan." Phil looked at the camera and tilted his head a bit from curiosity. "Can I see your face?" Phil asked after a moment.
"Um," Dan sounded scared. "You don't want to."
"Why?"
"You just don't want to." Dan sighed.
"Daniel," Phil sighed as well. "You are beautiful even if you don't think you are. I promise Dan, I would never lie to you. And if something happened I'll help you, I promise. I don't care how you look, I will always be in your life." Phil didn't know where that came from. Dan blushed behind the computer screen even though Phil couldn't see.
Dan sighed, "Promise?"
"I promise." Dan began to move the black cloth away from the MacBook camera but, hesitated at first. The cloth stayed there for a while accompanied by silence.
"It's okay Dan," Phil reassured. Dan sighed and moved the cloth slowly from the camera showing himself. Phil smiled at Dan's beauty as Dan smiled at his with a red face. As Phil studied Dan Phil found something different.
"What happened?" Phil asked, he became nervous again but, this time there was an anxiety attack.
"Phil," Dan sighed. "The reason why I couldn't talk to you these past two days is that..." Phil had beads of sweat on his forehead, an anxiety attack in motion as he waited for Dan to answer.
"I have cancer."
