Chapter 2-Remorseful

Remorseful- filled with remorse, sorry, guilty.

Robert's POV

They finally finished my surgery and that been two days ago and I'm still laying up in the hospital doing nothing. At first, I thought wasn't going to make it when they needed a family member to donate blood but all of them passed away so I was just in luck when somebody donated in my blood type a few days ago. I just want to go home I want to spend time with my wife Mel. I mean Diana or do I? I just kept thinking about what Melinda said and it made me feel bad like did I really make her feel bad? I didn't know, I thought I was making everyone happy, I thought when I gave her the $10 million everything was perfect I get that she wanted everything else but SHE divorced me so I'm confused. We both worked very hard for this and I know this took forever and I can't expect her to wait and keep working like a dog but I thought I was doing everything right. Maybe I should stop thinking and start doing. I should have got a job somewhere when we were together. I should have made Melinda feel like she was #1 in my life but I was focused on my dreams, in fact, I was too focused.

Diana came back to check on me and brought me some balloons that said get well soon.

Diana: Hey Robert.

Robert: Hey baby.

We kissed but something was off, it didn't feel the same.

Diana: I wish I can stay longer for you.

Robert: It's okay you got to relax for the baby.

Diana: Do you think its time to come up with any names for the baby.

Robert: What names are you thinking of?

Diana: Well if it was a girl I was thinking of Trina. Trina Gayle. Now if it's a boy I was thinking maybe Robert Jr.

Robert: They both sound perfect.

The Doctor walked in with her chart and said...

Doctor: How are you feeling Mr. Gayle?

Robert: I'm ready to go home.

Doctor: Sorry you can't do that yet you have to stay here for us to keep an eye on you and make sure you are getting your rest.

Robert: How long do I have to stay?

Doctor: We have to do a few more tests and make sure you're okay since you did just have major surgery.

Robert: Ugh.

The doctor looks at Diana and say...

Doctor: Can I talk to you outside? Robert gets your rest.

Robert: Ok.

Diana's POV

I walked with the doctor in the hallway and she told me...

Doctor: When we release him he has to be in a wheelchair for about 4-6 months at the most.

Diana: Ok.

Doctor: And you have to be extra careful with him. We going to send some nurses to help y'all out and I know you need as much help as you can.

Diana: Thank You.

Doctor: Oh it's no problem I know you can only do as much as you can. (Nervous chuckle) Which reminds me of when the last time you had a checkup?

Diana: Last month but I get another scheduled for next week.

Doctor: Ok I was just making sure but I think that's all I got left to say so I'm going to get these last few tests and the nurses so you all be good to go because they need to feed him, bathe him...
