Hyunjin {one shot}

Hyunjin's POV
Seungmin and I left the dorm and began walking down the street to the local pharmacy.

"Seriously, how did everyone manage to get sick overnight? They're definitely going to spread it to us." I mumbled annoyed.

"Chill, just remember to wear your mask around them and you'll be fine." Seungmin replied simply.

"Did we have to become their slaves though? I don't want to get up this early in the morning just to buy them medicine." I complained further.

"Hey I didn't want to come either, but apparently no one trusts you to buy the right products." Seungmin sighed, "Can you just grab some toothpaste? I'll get everything else."

"Fine." I mumbled as I wandered off into one of the aisles. A few seconds later I realised my shoelace was untied, so I quickly crouched down to fix it. However, once I stood back up, I was startled to find a girl right in front of me.

'She must be a new worker' I thought as I watched her restocking the shelves. 'Definitely a very pretty worker' I couldn't help but think.

I quickly backed away to find Seungmin. "Did you get the toothpaste?" He asked once he saw me.

"Nope."

"You literally had one job dude."

"Well anyway, I got distracted by this really pretty girl who works here. Should I go and use my irresistible charm to woo her?" I asked wiggling my eyebrows.

"No, I'll feel too bad for the poor girl." He replied bluntly.

"Whatever, just watch and learn kid." I said smoothly as I returned to the other aisle.

I cleared my throat before saying, "Excuse me, could you show me where the toothpaste is?"

She looked at me confused, "Sorry what did you say?" She asked in English.

My eyes widened. English? Oh no, I wasn't expecting that...

I scanned my brain for any logical sentences to say. In the end I came up with "Sorry, I go..." and then just turned and left embarrassed.

"Seungmin I need your help." I said as I tugged on his arm impatiently.

"What happened to your irresistible charm?" He asked smirking.

"It doesn't work in English - I need you to speak for me." I mumbled shyly.

"Wait, she only speaks English?" Seungmin asked surprised before laughing, "Wow this just got a lot more interesting for me."

"Please just do me this one favour." I asked, practically begging him.

"Fine, what do you want me to say?" He asked finally giving in.

"Ask her where the toothpaste is."

Seungmin gave me the 'are you serious' look.
"That was your smooth pickup line?" He scoffed, "It's a good job you're handsome..."

Once again I approached the girl but this time with Seungmin by my side. I quickly nudged him to start speaking.

"Hi, could you show us where the toothpaste is please?" He asked perfectly.

She smiled, "Of course. Here you go." She said as she walked over to the dental section. "Is this your friend?" She asked looking up at me.

"Yes, unfortunately." Seungmin replied making her laugh.

"Can you tell him that I apologise for not being able to speak much Korean? My family just moved here two days ago from England." She explained.

"Oh cool I-"

I subtly elbowed him, "What is she saying?" I whispered.

"She said you're weird."

I rolled my eyes, "What have you got against me?"

Seungmin sighed before quickly translating the conversation for me.

"Oh tell her that she doesn't need to apologise and ask her why she moved to Korea." I said.

After a while, he explained to me that her brother is starting university in Seoul, so her family decided to move together, and her parents recently bought this pharmacy.

"How old are you?" I directly asked her since it was one of the only questions I knew.

"I was born in 2000 so I'm 18 this year." She said.

"Oh that's cool, we're the same age." Seungmin told her just as someone else walked into the shop.

"What's taking you guys so long? We thought you got kidnapped!" A deep voice exclaimed from the doorway.

"Sorry Felix, we were just about to pay." Seungmin said as he placed the medicine and toothpaste onto the counter.

"Oh hi Felix!" The girl suddenly waved as he stood next to me.

"Hey Y/N! How are you?" He asked switching to English.

"Do you two know each other?" Seungmin asked confused.

"Yeah, we met yesterday when I came in to buy something." Felix explained.

The three of them continued to have a discussion in English while I just stood there awkwardly and tried my best to understand.

"Ok well thank you Y/N, we'll see you around!" Seungmin and Felix said as they waved goodbye.

"Bye guys! Oh wait, what was your name?" She asked looking at me with a cute smile.

"Me?" I asked surprised, pointing to myself.

She nodded. "Oh I'm H-hyunjin..." I mumbled embarrassed.

"Nice to meet you Hyunjin, I'll try hard to learn Korean so I can talk to you more next time." She said, trying her best to speak in Korean.

Really? She wants to see me again?

I couldn't help but smile widely as I stared back at her dreamily.

"What's wrong with him?" Felix asked giving me a weird glance.

Seungmin sighed, "I'll explain later - come on lover boy, let's go." He mumbled as they had to drag me out of the pharmacy.
