Joey's Point of View
It felt like I was waiting in the car forever but realistically it was only a few minutes. I just wanted to get home. A slight knock on the window made me jump, I looked up and saw Caleb and Scott. I unlocked the doors so they could get in, hoping that they hadn't seen me jump. I knew he was going to ask what had happened however he would know that I wasn't about to discuss it. He started the car and took off down the road, there was a bike behind us and there was a part of me that was paranoid but that was stupid, there was over a hundred people at that warehouse there was a possibility that someone left at the same time as us.
It was silent in the car except for the radio, it was playing softly in the background. I glanced back at Scott who was focusing out the window. I had thought I had figured out how I felt about him but seeing him tonight was making me question this. I knew that it would be a shock but he knew what he was getting into before we come here and he needed to accept this because I wasn't about to just give it up because we were getting married, especially after tonight. Caleb was waiting for me to say something, I glanced over at him and saw him glancing at me. I turned back towards the window, resting my head against it. I couldn't do it. I don't know how long we were driving for with him glancing at me every few seconds but it reached a point where he decided he was waiting anymore.
"Are you going to explain what happened?" He asked.
"There's nothing to explain, nothing happened." I replied, still looking out the window.
I could see him shaking his head out of the corner of my eye before going back to focus on the road. We slipped back into silence, he wanted to know and deep down I wanted to be able to share but we weren't alone and I already knew that Scott's opinion of me had changed and I wasn't about to fuel that anymore plus I was still feeling raw. Roughly fifteen minutes later we pulled onto the street.
"Thanks for the lift. I'll see you later." I said to him as I climbed out of the car.
I heard Scott's door close as well. Caleb gave me one last look before driving off. I went to head towards the door but Scott stopped me.
"Joey wait, we need to talk." He said softly.
"Yes Scott?" I replied just as softly.
"I don't know what I thought was going to happen tonight but what did happen was nowhere near what I thought. I know that something happened to change you but I cannot deal with this. I thought I still loved you, in fact I was almost sure of it until I seen you tonight. This is not going to work. I don't care what happens to either of the companies I'm not marrying you. I'm sorry." He said and before giving me a chance to say anything back he walked off.
I turned towards him but I had no words. Just like that before I can even explain anything he decides it's over. I had spent the last two weeks coming to the conclusion I still loved him and before I could tell him bam it's done. I don't know how he thinks he is going to get out of this I was told it was iron clad, granted that could just have been another lie I was fed. It's not like I stopped to get a lawyer to look over it. And he could have told me there was no way out of it because he thought he could turn me back into the obedient Joey. I was about to open the door and hopefully sneak inside when I heard my name been called behind me.
Jesse's Point of View
I don't care what the others said. I was not leaving her alone tonight. They knew how I felt about her so it really shouldn't have surprised them. From the moment I first met her she had an impact on me. I knew that there would be no chance with her for a while but I was willing to wait until she was ready. I had thought we were almost there when Scott showed his face again. Then I went through the worst two weeks of my life when Joey took off. I was angry and miserable not knowing where she was and if she was okay. Then she comes back and explains why she left and bam that was the icing on the cake. I could tell that her feelings were still there and I didn't blame her, her and Scott had history.
