The younger Rose sibling sat at the coffee table waiting for her brother to prepare breakfast, Adelyn wasn't excited to attend to school, the whole school saw the fight and the way she reacted to it.
She wasn't sure what was going on lately usually she could take the horrible things people say. But her walls were fallings slowly and she tried her hardest to build them higher, and while she was doing that, she was missing things in her life without noticing.
Kyle broke her out of her daze when he walked into the room, with two plates bacon and scrambled eggs, Adelyn sent him a smile before beginning to eat. But she couldn't help but notice his attire, it was definitely not what he usually wore to school. She tapped his shoulder, causing him to look up, the girl directed his attention to his clothes and he made a sound of realization, he quickly swallowed his food.
"Aunt Carol asked for some of mum's stuff so I won't be able to take you to school" Adelyn sighed in relief, she wouldn't be attending. She would jump and get excited but of course, she reframed from doing so. But Kyle wasn't finished his sentence.
"So Blake Richardson is picking you up in 15 minutes" He smiled as the girl's mood died quickly, she rolled her eyes, losing her appetite, standing up and leaving the table.
"Hey that took me 5 minutes to make young lady" he called out after her, she chuckled before grabbing her bag, softly putting her arms through the straps. Her mind went to Kyle, he had been interacting with her more recently, she almost wanted to talk to him but she wasn't sure if it was safe yet.
But sooner than she thought, a beep echoed through the house and Kyle called out to her telling her that Blake was here. She sighed before leaving her room, shutting the door behind her. Giving a quick smile and hug before exiting the Rose Resistance.
Blake's heart was beating out of his chest as his palm became sweaty, it was absolutely nerve-racking to be picking up the girl that drives him insane but he offered it to Kyle not actually thinking that he would say yes.
So when the girl stepped out of the two-story house, his breathing went uneven as she made her way towards the car, she was in the usual outfit that she wore to school with no makeup, a band shirt with black ripped jeans and old black sneakers that were a couple years old now.
Adelyn wasn't any near as nervous as the boy in the car, because she didn't think the boy was anything to her, in a couple years they would have completely different lives and never see each other again.
"Morning" His voice filled the silent air as she climbed into the car, sending him a smile. His heart rate increased immediately, he wished he had enough confidence to tell them how much she meant to him. As soon as the girl sat next to him was ready, he pulled out of the parking spot before continuing on their way to school.
"Sorry for making you see me like that yesterday" Adelyn, look over at the boy. She didn't mind seeing him such way, why would it affect her anyway. She shrugged her shoulders, sometimes it upset Blake, he just wanted to hear her voice and hear her opinion. He stopped at a red light, he took this time to look over at the girl to see her just playing with the rings on her fingers. The one on her middle fingers looked amazing.
"I like that one" He whispered as he pointed towards it, she smiled nodding her head agreeing with the boy, he let out an inaudible sigh before looking back towards the road, Adelyn looked over at the boy. She could tell when she had messed something up, but she always wasn't sure what she exactly did so when she saw Blake's expression she could tell he was expecting more then a nod.
But somehow they were already at school, she went to smile at Blake as a thank you but the boy had already climbed out of his car, and went to his friends. The girl sat in his car for a little while longer, not ready to get started at or for the silence to hit when she walked in. She opened the sun visor to find a mirror, she quickly opened the little cover it had, looking at herself in the eyes.
She thought about what her voice sounded like, she had completely forgotten over the years, her eyes reached past the sun visor to see Blake again, he was laughing and goofing around with his friends but for some reason, she made a promise to herself. She wasn't sure if it was a good promise but she felt like she owed him that much.
Blake would be the first person that she would speak a word to when she was ready, he wasn't special or anything but she felt he deserved that much, if he was willing to go fists with someone for her, she meant something to him and she wanted to know how much she meant to the boy.
She let out a breath before opening the car door, climbed out shutting the door behind her careful not to shut her fingers with it. Almost immediately she felt eyes on her, she was tempted to just climb back into the car and beg Blake to take her home but she was stronger than that. She held her head high and began to walk towards school, she wasn't letting anyone bring her down today was Adelyn Rose's day and no one was ruining that not even 1000 students watching her every move.
Blake watched the girl, he could tell that she was uncomfortable and on the edge of breaking but he was furitated with her, he understood that maybe she might never talk again but he couldn't let that happen hell he wouldn't let it happen. He needed to know her what her voice sounded like or how her lips formed words, he wouldn't let this girl go unspoken for the rest of her life.
