"𝐃𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐤, 𝐈 𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐨𝐝 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 '𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞' 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐫𝐢𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐭!" The pain was overwhelming, and all Morgan wanted was a moment of peace without his incessant chatter.
The group had decided to relocate from Derek's loft to the McCall house, believing it would provide a safer environment away from the lurking demon warriors. It was there that Melissa, the ever-reliable mother, confirmed that Morgan was in the early stages of labor. However, they all agreed that heading to the hospital was unnecessary at that point since they would just send her back home until her water broke. The atmosphere was tense, but they were all focused on keeping Morgan comfortable during this chaotic time.
Fortunately, Morgan finally got a bit of solitude to deal with her pain, as the teenagers had to prepare for school the next day and Melissa had her own job to attend to. Despite the chaos surrounding them, Melissa was more than happy to let Morgan and Derek stay as long as they needed, knowing that the McCall residence was a secure haven. It was a small comfort for Morgan, who was grateful for the safety of the home, even if her body was putting her through the wringer.
"Are you sure you'll be alright?" Derek asked hesitantly, his voice tinged with concern as they sat alone in the house. It was around three in the afternoon, and he had to leave his pregnant girlfriend, and but deep down, she knew he wouldn't walk out the door without a solid reason.
"I'll be just fine," Morgan replied, offering him a reassuring smile as she leaned in to plant a gentle kiss on his lips. The discomfort in her belly had eased, and she had been keeping track of her contractions, which were still far from signaling the arrival of their baby. Derek, after sharing one last kiss, finally stepped out of the McCall house, making sure to secure every door and window. Just as Morgan was about to pour herself a glass of water, she heard the front door creak open and shut, causing her to pause. Before panic could set in, she recognized Scott's familiar voice, bringing a wave of relief.
"We'll be fine, Allison. Her dad and Isaac are working on something that could help," the teen boy reassured Kira while he moved through his living room, making sure to close all the doors and windows just like Derek had done moments before. In the midst of all this, Scott had completely overlooked the pregnant woman in his house, not even registering her scent as he focused on Kira and the looming threat of nightfall when the demon warriors would come for them.
"We also have a kind of security system, things happened a couple of weeks ago, a lot of things, and we had my boss help make a few changes to the house. But I can't arm it. Only my mom can." he continued, chatting away as he headed into the kitchen to secure the doors. Just then, he jumped a little when he spotted Morgan standing there, a small smile lighting up her face.
