The door of the train opened, that's it, we're in Amsterdam ! Everyone rushed out of the train, I took my time. I watched people reunite with their families and I wasn't sure if anyone would be waiting for me.
I slowly got up and walked to the door, the lady I was talking to said, "Good luck for the future Anne" "Same to you and your family Margaret" I replied with a slight smile.
I jumped out and looked around, and there was Pim with a bouquet of flowers in his hands. I ran towards him and he gasped when he saw me run to him, he hugged me tight.
"I though that I wouldn't see any of you again" Pim said with a tear in his eyes. "Do you know what happened to Margot and Edith ?" He proceeded "Mother died of exhaustion in Aushwitz and Margot died about a month ago of Typhus." I said as I remembered the last time I saw them.
Pim nodded after wiping tears from his eyes.
"These are for you, my darling" he said after handing me the bouquet. I smiled and thanked him.
"I didn't know if I'd be giving them to anyone. Let's go home, someone was eager to see if you're coming back"
"Who ? Miep ?" I asked
"Just wait and see" he laughed and he offered me his hand.
We walked, I was happy to be in Amsterdam again. We walked along Merwedeplein Square to our apartment, Pim opened the door and shouted "Anne is here."
He covered my eyes as he lead me to the dining room, I was confused.I hope you enjoyed the second chapter of my story. Feel free to send feedback. Thank you for reading and stay tuned for more.
