I couldn't believe I was preparing to go on a date with Peter Van Pels. I was singing my favourite songs while waiting for my hair to dry in my curlers and picking out what to wear.
I decided on a floral dress with a white Peter Pan neckline and a brown coat.
I brushed out my bouncy curls and set them using hairspray to stay in place all evening. Peter was waiting for me in the living room so I pinned my hair, buttoned up my dress, put perfume on, laced my shoes and left the room with the coat resting on my left arm.
"Anne, looking wonderful as always" Peter said as he kissed my left hand, took the coat and put it on me.
"So do you" I said with a smile.
He led me to the door, opened it and made way for me to go outside.
He took my hand as we walked to the cinema. We talked about how much we miss the ones we lost but that was too sad so we changed the subject.
We went to a restaurant and ate while joking about all the stupid things we did when we were younger. Then we realised that it was time to go watch the movie. It starred some of my favourite actors. After that we slowly walked home. In the middle of the Magere Brug, Peter stopped me, looking straight into my eyes. I saw the moon reflecting in his eyes, as I was staring at his eyes, he closed the distance between us and kissed me slowly for a few seconds. I smiled and we continued walking back home holding his hand tightly.Thank you for reading another chapter, it is highly appreciated.
