*1951*
The day that I had been waiting for arrived. I was in a car with Pim, going to the synagogue to marry Peter Van Pels. My heart was beating fast, I had been dreaming of that moment since 1942 and now it's finally here.
Pim put the veil over my face, "We're here darling"
"I wish mummy and Margot were here"
"They are, dear"
The main door of the synagogue opened and at the end of the synagogue I saw my husband-to-be, smiling at me. I thought I saw a tear rolling down his cheek but the veil was making it hard to see clearly. We walked down the isle until I arrived to my Peter. The ceremony was beautiful and I got emotional a couple of times, especially when we said our vows and exchanged rings. The reception was wonderful, old and new friends were celebrating that special day with us. We danced just like we did on the night I came home from Bergen-Belsen. I'm truly and deeply in love with this man and I couldn't wait to spend the rest of my life with him.
