Two hours passed, making the sky gleam with golds, orange, and reds. Sunset was about half over, and the colors were brilliant. The sun was the color of melted gold, gleaming, while its edges held more of an orange color. It reminded me of dew colored orange trees fresh in spring. The reds danced around it in the heat, as if it's feet were burning. It was the perfect view.
I had explained everything to Liam and Josh. Who I was, and what planet I came from. Of course, I didn't tell them my real name. I told them about Agatha and Tyler, but didn't tell them what they were, that would be up to them. Liam's expression was always a mixture of fascination, fear, and puzzlement. He seemed interested, but something held him back. Fear? Maybe he didn't believe me. I finished the "story" with my escape of Jay, and how I came to be at his house. I told him that I heard his conversation with Jay, just behind the doorway. He answered with head nods, a few yes's and no's, an "I understand", and maybe a "sure". Of course his first words after all of it was over didn't surprise me...
"What proof is there for me to believe you?"
I laughed, tipping my head a bit. I twirled a hair for a moment, letting it drop back. "I'm your proof."
Liam raised a skeptical eyebrow. "You? You're the proof? How?"
I glanced around, seeing the last couple from the outdoor section leave. I sighed, then stood. Why am I doing this? I rolled my eyes as I walked around the table, coming to Liam's side.
I looked flatly down at him. "Stand up."
Liam looked me up and down, in a expression that said "What the hell are you doing?" Eventually, he complied, standing up and facing me.
I sighed again. What am I doing again? I asked myself, annoyed.
"What?"
Then I thought of how Noxi had showed me what he was. I shook my head. "Nothing," I murmured. I gestured to Liam's hand. "If I may?"Liam glanced down. Then nodded.
I gently grabbed his hand, raising it up to my chest. I let it rest above my right side, letting him feel my right heart beat. The left heart was more faint, but you could still feel it.
Liam's eyes widened. Like me with Noxi, he yanked from my grip and placed his hand on the other side. I rolled my head back, letting him finish his awe.
"You-" He stammered. I raised my eyebrows.
"You have two hearts?" Liam asked, awe and confusion dripping from his voice.
Josh spit out the last sip of mocha. "She has what?!" He exclaimed.
"T-two...hearts." Liam replied, a bit shakily.
I took his wrist and dropped his hand from my chest. "Yes, two hearts, surprise!"
Liam took a step back. "What are you?"I rolled my eyes. "I just told you! What do you think the past two hours were for?"
Liam shook his head. "Stupid question, I know...It's just...You....your an alien..."
"Yes, yes..." I breathed."An alien...from space. Born on a different planet, among different people."
"Yes!"
Liam took a deep breath. "Okay...I'm fine. I'm...okay. Just...tell me, why are you telling me this?"
"You got involved," I replied. "Jay captured you, and he told you what I was. You know too much, so I might as well tell you the full story."
Liam just stared at me.
"But," I continued, "if you share any of this, or tell anyone, even best friends, I will kill you. You know what I can do."
Liam nodded. "Fine, okay...alright...sure....That's cool."
