The ship is one of the fastest in the Universe. Well, of course it was, it was Time Lord technology. We don't have to wait long for us to go somewhere. Everyone was silent, even the pilot and the Commander, who had boarded before the craft left the ground. I don't know where we are going, but if we are leaving this planet, I need to know. I need to push some questions on the Commander. I already know he won't like it, nor will he probably listen, but I have to try anyway.
I got up from my curled position in the corner of the cell, and hoisted myself up with my arms.
Liam gave me a quizzical look. It was the kind of look that said,
what-are-you-trying-to-accomplish?
I replied with a small yet confident smile.
The Commander was in the doorway between the cab of the ship and the pilots nest. This was my chance to ask him questions. I began with a long, deep sigh.
The Commander turned his head, raising an eyebrow.
I opened my mouth to begin an amazing speech that may ultimately lead to my escape. But I stopped. Was I really ready? I leaned my head against the bars. Could I handle another round of pain or sorrow? No, It's my only choice. I have to. I must!
I quieted all the rambles of my mind, and opened my mouth again to release another sigh. It was quieter, not to disturb anyone. I followed it by a deep inhale, both calming myself and readying myself. This must be done.
Then an idea stuck in my head. What if we needed Jay? I have an idea that may change his mind about extraterrestrials. If this ship was already planning to go to another planet, or space at least, then let's go pick them up. I smiled inwardly.
Then, finally ready, I opened my mouth to speak.
The first sounds were grumbles and little growls. Then I worked up my voice to actually say an audible word.
"Commander," I said, a little raspy.
The Gallifreyan turned around.
"If I may put in a request?"
He didn't say anything, but his mouth made a mocking "pff" sound, which was enough for me.
"Commander," I said again.
He turned around, giving me a face that said I'm ready to kill you.
"Do you remember that little human I was talking about earlier?"
He nodded slowly.
"We need him."
He suddenly left the place he was standing in, and he walked over to me, standing straight and tall.
"Why?" he asked, almost at a whisper.
"I want his facility shut down," I said flatly. "We take the facility down and take the leader captive, deal?"
The Commander rolled his eyes. "Who says they won't find another to lead them?"
"I'm pretty sure that'll take some time."
"How many are they?"
I shrugged. "Of course I don't know the exact number, but they are more than you."
"So you want me to go in there blind, with barely any knowledge of the layout and of how many we're fighting?"
I nodded. "Pretty much," I told him bluntly, as care-free as I could. "But who worries about those things when you have me?"
I smiled.
The Commander flinched, narrowing his eyes in frustration.
"And," I added, "if you take him down, it's less worries in the future. I also have my own plans with him."
