Aren's POV

I woke up to pinches and kicks. Then I looked up to see that I was completely naked and covered with barely healed and some still bleeding wounds. "What did you do to me?"

I croaked, my eyes burning red dimmer then they used to be. "Isn't it obvious by now? We all used you, and now we're gonna throw you in the river."

And I saw there were boulders attached to chains which were attached to me. "I swore to keep your secret Paul! So what's this about?"

I snapped, buying myself more time, even if it was only a few seconds. "Throw her in." And suddenly I was tossed into the current with the chained boulders dragging me down.

I was strong but I was weak from the abuse they put my body, my mind, and my spirit through and I stopped fighting. Jacob I'm so sorry. I thought as I blacked out.

Suddenly I was coughing up lungful after lungful of water and I dimly felt familiar hands on my sides. "Jacob." I whispered as I continued to cough.

"Paul.. Leah.. Quil.. Even Seth."

I whispered and he looked at me.

"Hey. You're safe now okay? I'm not letting you go again. I swear." He said and I finished coughing and threw myself into his arms, feeling tears falling and sobs coming as they coughed out of me. "You're okay."

He said and I whimpered and looked at him. "How did you find me?" I asked quietly. "Wolves have mates for a reason."

And I kissed him, my hands on his back. I felt him kissing back, but it was almost hesitant. "What is it?" I asked, looking at him.

"You need a pack. You're an alpha. Not a beta, and definitely not an Omega." He said and I looked at him. "What are you saying Jake?" I asked, looking at him as he stood up. "We need to find you a pack in case this happens again."

Jacob said and I looked at him. "Part of being an actual child of the moon is that you can change people. Pick out a few candidates that aren't already fit and then bring them to me. We'll go from there." And he nodded.

"Okay. But first, we're going home." He said and I staggered as I tried to walk. "Hold on." And he phased and I climbed onto his back.

He raced off and we met Billy outside the front door. "Aren." He said coldly and I looked at Jacob who shrugged, and looked legitimately completely confused. I growled and I saw the reason why Billy was being so cold.

Standing in the living room, was the pack. Sam, Leah and Seth, Paul, Quil and Max. "We thought you'd never come." Sam said coldly. "You gonna banish me? Go ahead. You're gonna kill me? No one has managed it yet. Try to cut me off from all my allies, there will always be help for those who remember and have enough courage to ask for it."

I said and growled.

"Paul you son of a bitch."

Jacob said and I held him back. "Jake don't. Sam what's my punishment?" I asked coldly. "Banishment. Permanent banishment from the Twilight Pack Territory."

Sam said and Jacob was growling.

"Sam you can't be serious. She has nowhere else to go. No one to go to. We've been her family for almost 7 years, and you're gonna throw that away at Paul's attempt at drowning her? She's an alpha!" Jacob snapped.

"Then go with her Jacob. If you love her that much then go." Sam said and I shook my head. "There's no question there. His loyalty is to the pack, and the pack alone."

And I pushed past Seth where I leaped up the stairs and landed in my room.

I grabbed all my emergency money, swiped Billy's credit cards, and dropped the bag out the window. "Aren." And the voice was barely audible, even by shifters' standards.

I felt Jacob's familiar arms around my waist. "Stop. You're loyal to the Pack now." And I leaped out the window and picked up my bag. "Let me come with you please." Jacob said, looking at me desperately. He drew in a sharp breath of air. "You're leaving." He said and his face was upset and full of agony.

"I have to Jacob. But whenever you need me, I'll come running. You're my imprint."

I said and brushed hair out of his brown eyes filled with agony. He grabbed my face in his hands and he kissed me. I felt our tongues fighting for dominance and when Jacob pulled awake, I could see his eyes shining.

"Be the grandson of your chief Jacob. Be Ephriam Black's grandson. You're an alpha. You were born into it like I was." And I sighed. "Don't make this harder for both of us Jake."

I said and he nodded and suddenly I felt a familiar feeling spread through me. Jacob turned towards the house and I realized what he was trying to do. Sam walked out with the pack behind him and my eyes glowed red like fire. "You little brat. You imprinted on her."

Paul said and charged at me and I looked at him and sighed. I kicked him in the chest with both feet and he stumbled backwards and hit Leah which sent them both tumbling.

I threw my head back and howled, my eyes red. Suddenly humanoids ran over and stood behind me. "It's been a long time Aren."

And I looked at him. "Derek."

I said to the blue eyed beta who snarled at Paul.

"Have you forgotten what the absolute law is?" Jacob asked, looking at Paul who was snarling with fury like none of us had ever seen. "No one can harm the imprint." Seth said and looked at his sister and then at Sam.

"I'm sorry."

And he walked over to us and crouched.

"Get up. No one kneels to anyone. Yes, I'm an alpha, but I don't make my pack-mates kneel. Because I'm not Sam by any means."

I said coldly, glaring at the man who had dared call himself my alpha for four years.

"Let's get out of here." I said and I howled. Jacob echoed the call as we raced away, racing to catch up to our scouts.
