"I'm so honored!"
"And that's precisely why I have to win right now." He held his glasses up. "You see, I thought that I needed to reform the student council, but I was wrong! So I raise you another thirty! Come work for me and the Princess, Yumeko Jabami!" He lowered his voice for the next part as he pointed at her. "I know how you like her."
Your face lit up red. You didn't appreciate that at all. But at least, Kaede would win now.
"Miss Vice President?" Itsuki asked. "We would ask that you add more chips. We're going to raise by ten."
"I'm sorry?" He deadpanned.
"I can't afford to hold back. I'm stretching myself to the limit." She explained. "Didn't I tell you? I'm going to take you down!"
"I will raise you ten." He countered.
"You will?" Yumeko was becoming a blushing mess. "And you're telling me that you're offering me time with the beloved Princess? Perfect!"
"I am not a bet!" You yelled quietly as they began raising by ten back and forth. "No one may bet me."
"Itsuki, you are pathetic! You refuse to recognize the gap between your ideals and your abilities." Kaede noted. "You're making bad judgment calls. Just as I said, you're not qualified to take the high road. You're an incompetent who just happens to have more money than others."
"I'm sick of listening to you talk! Bet or call it quits!" She yelled.
"I raise one hundred chips." He said calmly.
"Since this pot is rather large, having you bet non-existent money would make this bet rather pointless." Ririka explained.
She's being so... talkative. You thought to yourself. Odd for Ririka. But it is in the facet of being a referee. Nothing more, nothing less. My God, though, Kaede is being a monster.
"You had best remember just how much I have added to this academy's commerce." Kaede pulled out his own personal account book to verify his funds. "I've got more than enough."
"True. Alright, next. Yumeko Jabami, are you going to make another bet?" Ririka asked.
"Itsuki, how much money do you have left?" Yumeko asked a frantic looking Itsuki.
"I'm so sorry. I'm really maxed out now." She admitted.
"I see. But no worries. You still have something to bet with. Before, when I first lost and fell into debt, the student council issued me something called a 'life plan', the value of which was 310 million yen. That's what's my life was worth, right? I'm talking about your life! Let's bet everything we have, Itsuki!" Yumeko held up her Mittens tag and you laughed.
Immediately you scrolled through your phone. Although you didn't keep every single student's life worth up to date, you certainly kept recent student council members. Especially with Yumeko prowling around.
"Itsuki, you're the daughter of the CEO of a major Japanese toy maker! You have so much at the tips of your fingers! I can't begin to imagine just how much that would make you worth!"
"If we go for that and you lose, then I..." Itsuki looked afraid.
"Yes! You'll be a house pet until you die!"
