20: And That's The Story

"...And that's the story." Sayaka reported to the council. She had been in the cafeteria nearly the whole time as Itsuki suffered her humiliating loss.

"Taking Sumeragi down so soon after transferring here. What an amazing girl!" Yumemi cheered.

"I bet she's full of herself, beating a peon." Midari practically drooled.

"Itsuki only got into the student council because of a huge donation, anyway." Yuriko mentioned. "And Princess YN liked her toys."

"Hey, wait?" Runa smiled mischeviously. Runa always knew all the secrets within the student council. "Who was it that recommended her again?"

"Not. Another. Word." Kaede adjusted his glasses. That very reason was probably why you weren't invited. There were just a few things that he, and the majority of the council, were hiding from you with good reason. If you found out, you could shut down the whole thing.

"Now, then, about this Yumeko Jabami, how shall we dispose of her?" Sayaka asked.

"This is pretty intriguing. Why don't we do some meddling? I'm sure our princess is interested in her."

The conversation paused while everyone retreated back to their classes.

Meanwhile, you were talking to Yumeko and Ryota in class.

"You're such a good gambler, Jabami!" You smiled at her sweetly. "Ryota and I had so much fun watching you!"

Having caught up on what you missed from the other students, you wanted to spend time with this magnificent girl and her cute sidekick.

"Thank you... I'm sorry, what is your name?" She smiled back at you.

"You can call me YN. That's what Ryota calls me." You looked over at the boy and noticed him giving you a pleasant look. He liked how you said his name and he liked how cute you were and he liked being around you. Ryota liked you.

"Well then, you'll just have to call me Yumeko. Tell me, YN, do you like to gamble?" A mischievous glint appeared in her eyes.

"No, not particularly. Not at this school at least. A bunch of cheaters who bet way too much money." You rolled your eyes. You had learned your lesson when you first came to this school. "I like to bet low stake things, in truly fair games. Like flipping a coin for who pays for lunch."

"That's the kind of gambling I can get behind." Ryota sighed, having felt the pressure of this school first hand.

"I simply love higher stakes. The higher the bet, the lower the fall! It's fantastic. Isn't there anywhere else where I can make such gambles like at lunch?" Yumeko smiled wickedly at you now. Then your phone buzzed. And buzzed. And buzzed. And buzzed once more.

Midari ☠️: Change of plans! The council wants to watch Jabami bet after school. We can hang out another time!! <3

Yuriko🍜: Please bring Yumeko to my club after classes. I look forward to seeing you.

Kae<3: After you drop off the girl, come up to the Council's room above the club. Afterwards, we can go home together.

Kirari🔷: We have a lot to discuss. Please take that into consideration for tomorrow.

"My friend Yuriko loves to make big gambles! I had plans for after school, but I think I would like to bring you to her, how does that sound, Yumeko?"

"I would love that, YN. If you keep introducing me to such big gamblers, we might just become best friends!" She was excited now. And for the rest of class, you watched her practically vibrate in her chair while she waited for the day to end.
