Chapter Twenty Four - Odoroita's School For S-Ranks

  "We're gonna miss you so bad!"

  Ai waved at the crowd who filtered out KHS to see the S-Ranks leave for Odoroita's school. Temari, who was teary-eyed, gave one last hug to Ai before giving the others their turn. When she got to Naruto, he whispered,

  "Kurama said to have fun there, . . . he said something else but I'm not going to say it . . . anyway, bye! We'll visit for sure!" Naruto cried. Ai smiled. Sasuke, who was beside Naruto, gave her a nod and a very tiny smile that Ai wanted to whip her phone out and snap a picture but it was gone before she can. What a disappointment.

  Like the girls, Sakura hugged her tight and apologized about the mean things she did to her in the past. Ino did the same and they both looked genuine. Ai spotted Miwaku just barely and she gave a smile. Miwaku hesitantly gave one back before covering it up with a scowl.

  "Ai!"

  Ai gulped. She slowly turned around and saw Gaara heading for her. Temari cupped her mouth and whooted under her breath. Tenten and Hinata heard her and giggled profusely. Ai shot them a sideway annoyed glance but she too, was smiling. Temari decided to be more of an annoyance but whistling when Gaara hugged her and Naruto nudged Sasuke, grinning. But Sasuke didn't look too happy. What a surprise.

  "We'll see each other again, Ai." Gaara said and planted a fleeting kiss on her lips before rushing off. Temari fell to the floor, gasping dramatically. Tenten fumbled with her phone and then groaned.

  "I thought I got the picture! Instead I snapped a picture of . . . THE SCHOOL BUS' WHEEL?!"

  Ai laughed. The bell rang and the students stampeded into the school after yelling out good-byes and the Konoha 12 followed after one last wave. Two arms came slunging over her shoulders and a couple of sides came bumping with hers. Ai jumped at the contact and can practically feel two tall S-ranks towering on each side of her. She already felt intimidated.

  "So, new meat, hmm?" one said. "Pretty tiny, don't you think, Hidan, yeah?"

  "I know. I expected her to more f*cking muscular. Look at those skinny arms. I think I can break them into f*cking two like a stick."

  "Please don't." Ai pleaded and they both guffawed.

  "Nice job on Itachi's ex. I couldn't believe my own eyes." Hidan said maliciously, ruffling her silver hair.

  "Yeah," Deidara agreed. "I think we're gonna get along jussst fine, hmm."

  Ai's eyes grew round. And she nodded mutely. The two laughed again and practically carried her with a grab of her arms and reached the bus. A group of S-Ranks were already there, other than the Akatsuki. They looked scary. And she can barely spot a female other than Konan. How great.

  "Uh, when are we leaving?" Ai asked shyly.

  Deidara whacked her in the back.

  "Excited already, hmm? Well, I'm not, that Odoroita dude sounds nasty, yeah."

  Hidan nodded. "Jashin said he's a f*cking friend of his."

  When Ai was about to ask who Jashin was, Itachi appeared with Sasori. They looked ever so glum like Ai remembered.

  "So," Sasori droned as he observed Ai. "You're the new S-Rank, eh? Never knew it would be you."

  Stupid puppet boy. I never knew you'd be able to become a ninja! I expected you to become some dumb doll maker!

  Ai grinned. It's about time Yokoshimana made a snide remark. She nodded at Sasori. Itachi, who smiled warmly at her, saluted Ai.

  "Welcome, then." he said. "Let's get on the bus, we're leaving in a few minutes."
