Forbidden Love

Chapter 1:

        Neo arrives at Spenser Academy. Everything was arranged by her grandfather, Alexander Grayson, who wishes to protect her from the Order of the Dragon. She is accompanied by Renfield, her grandfather's assistant. 

        "Well, a little gloomy, but I guess it will do", says Renfield.

        "I guess it will", says Neo as she grabs her knapsacks. Renfield drags her luggage and helps her to bring it to her new room. 

        "I told the management that you wish to have this room to yourself and only put a student when the other rooms are full", says Renfield, "Do you want me to unload the luggage for you?".

        "No thank you, Ren, I think I'm old enough to unpack my own clothes", she says.

        "If you need anything, you will call, right?", asks Renfield.

        Neo giggles and says, "Yes, Renfield, if I need anything, I will call. Don't you worry. The Order may know my name, but they don't know my face".

        "Your father and I made some investigation and so far, no students have any affiliation with The Order", says Renfield.

        Neo looks at him with surprise. "Wow, did you and dad really go to that length huh?", she says.

        "Your father and grandfather are being very particular", says Renfield, "I'll be leaving now, Miss Neo. Call me if you need anything". Neo walks outside to bid Renfield goodbye and waves as he leaves before returning to her room. As she arrives to her room, she is greeted by her two neighbours.

        "Hey, newbie! My name is Kate and this is Sarah", says Kate, a dark-haired girl and Sarah has blonde hair.

        "I'm Neo Grayson, just transferred from New York", says Neo.

        "Far from home, huh? Like me!", says Sarah.

        "My grandfather wants me to be independent, but not at the big city. My dad said otherwise, but eventually agrees", says Neo, "Where are you two from?".

        "I'm from here, but Kate's from Boston", says Kate, "Hey, you wanna come to the party? It's an annual Spenser Party at Dell's. Sarah's driving, but I'll be giving the directions. Wanna come?".

        This is Neo's opportunity to explore on her own. "Sure why not?", she says.

        "Cool, we'll leave at 7", says Kate.

        Neo returns to her room to rummage for clothes. Usually, she never goes to parties. She was homeschooled her whole life. Her father, Alexander Jr. always disagrees with the head of Grayson family regarding about Neo. Neo's mother died giving birth to her. Since she is more human than a vampire, she requires less blood and she can walk during daylights. 

        Once she finishes unpacking and picking out her outfit, she drops herself on her bed and dials for her father.

        "How's Ipswich?", the first thing her father asks.

        "Hi, dad. I'm fine and alive if that's what you're wondering", she says sarcastically and her father laughs, "Kinda dull and ancient, like grandpa, but he's not as dull as the weather".

        "I can hear you", Neo hears her grandfather, Alexander Grayson at the background.

        "Let me switch on the loud speaker so we both can talk to you", says Alexander Jr.

        "What is it about me so ancient, dearest granddaughter?", asks Alexander.

        "Well, you are Count Dracula", says Neo.

        "Yes, but I don't act so ancient as you put it", says Alexander.

        "You still can't figure out the modern gadgets", says Neo.

        "I will in due time, I'll have you know that", says Alexander before all three of them laughs, "How's Ipswich?".

        "Like I said, dull, but I'm sure this is all for my safety", says Neo, "I just miss you guys".

        "We miss you too, but it's for your own safety we put you there", says Alexander Jr, "Small town, hard for them to find you".

        "When this is all over, we all will fetch you up myself", says Alexander.

        "I bet Dr. van Helsing has finished the serum so you can walk during daylights", says Neo.

        "In due time", says Alexander, "Your father and I have to prepare a party for our guests tonight. Your grandmother is very particular with punctuality and fitting".

        "We'll call you tomorrow ok?", says Alexander Jr.

        "Ok, have fun. I love you guys. Give my love to grandma", says Neo before hanging up.

        Neo is the granddaughter of Count Dracula, who was revived by Dr. Abraham van Helsing during the Victorian era in order to seek revenge against a common enemy - The Order of The Dragon. While battling them, Count Dracula, disguised under the name Alexander Grayson builds a company that generates electricty. As he rose to bring down members of The Order, he met a woman named Mina Murray, who resembled his dead wife, Ilona. In the end, Mina left Jonathan Harker and went with Alexander.

        She discovered his true nature, but she stayed with him. The Order was gaining on them and their newly born son, Alexander Jr. Mina passed Alexander Jr. to her best friend, who was also a vampire named Lucy to care for her son while she and Alexander went underground to sleep. Renfield, Alexander's trusted ally, guarded the location. Lucy ran with the boy for centuries until they were cornered in  1970.

        Alexander Jr. grew and stopped aging in his 20s. When they were cornered, Lucy told him where to find his parents and sent him off. She sacrificed her life to let him escape. Alexander Jr. woke his parents up and reunited with them, swearing revenge for Lucy's life.

        The Graysons rebuilded their company and with the help of the eldest Renfield son, James. They began small and eventually became one of the most powerful import and export companies. Then, Alexander Jr. met and fell in love a human. At first, he tried to stay away, but he couldn't resisted and turned her into a vampire and she bore him a daughter, Neo.

        Unfortunately for her, Alexander Jr.'s wife were ambushed at the hospital the day after Neo's birth. Renfield managed to save Neo, but he was too late for the mother. Alexander Jr. went on a rampage when he found out the location of The Order. He slaughtered everyone at that hideout. When Mina managed to calm him down, Alexander Jr. went to hold his daughter and vowed to keep her safe, no matter what the cost is, including sending her off to Ipswich.
