Forbidden Love

Chapter 2

        Neo arrives at the Dell with Kate and Sarah. The party has started and Neo moves through the beat. Afterwards, the trio gather by the fire and have some drinks.

        "So give me the scoop, who's here?", asks Sarah.

        "Ok first thing you have to know that Aaron Abbott is a prick. He treats girls like dirt", says Kate as she points out to the jock with neck length brown hair, who is with a girl with wild curly blonde hair.

        "Ok...", says Sarah. Then, the three of them notices another guy. "Who's that?", asks Sarah.

        "New guy", says Kate.

        "He's cute", says Neo.

        "He's looking over here", says Sarah, giggling. The new guy is indeed looking at them and Neo can sense the charm effect because she's smiling ear to ear.

        "I don't know much about it, but I intend to find out", says Kate and the three of them giggle. As they giggle away at the gossips, Kate turns around and says, "They're here...".

        "Who are they?", asks Sarah. Neo turns to where Kate's looking and sees four guys walking towards them. She also senses some..., unknown aura vibrating around them.

        "The sons of Ipswich", says Kate. Kate greets one of them name Caleb and run to hug and kiss the other one with longer hair. Neo could guess they are a couple.

        "Who are these two?", asks Kate's boyfriend.

        "My new roommate, Sarah and our neighbour, Neo" says Kate before introducing the four of them. Kate's boyfriend is Pogue Perry, the one at the other end is Tyler Simms and before she could continue, the blond one standing between Caleb and Pogue cut her off.

        "Reid Garwin. You know, Sarah is my grandmother's name and it kinda reminds me of...", says Reid and it's Caleb's turn to cut him of.

        "Caleb Danvers..., and you don't bring my grandmother to mind, anywhere", says Caleb and it makes Sarah laughs. Neo tries to smile a little, even though she prefers to snarl like a normal vampire. There is something about these four guys that she needs to know.

        Suddenly, the girl with Aaron arrives and stands between Sarah and Caleb. 'How rude!', thought Neo. Her grandfather and grandmother were old school people, teaching her all about manners and right now, Neo feels like kicking the girl's ass towards the fire, but she restrains herself.

        "Hey Caleb", says the girl and Caleb greets her by her name - Kira. "How's your summer?", asks Kira, but Caleb is a little reluctant to answer since his eyes are glued to Sarah. Kira, annoyed, turns to Sarah. "I'm Kira", she says. Sarah introduces herself and Kira says, "Oh right, from the Boston public. Tell me, how does one go about getting into Spenser from a public?".

        "Why don't you give it a rest Kira?", says Caleb. Neo would like to interfere, but she prefers to stay quiet and see how these humans settle their problems.

        "Why don't you give it a rest?", Aaron interferes.

        "I don't want any trouble, Aaron", says Caleb.

        "I'm sure you don't", says Aaron. One of Aaron's posse, whom Neo dubs Posse 1 asks to leave because he wants to puke.

        "Isn't that right?", says Reid, trying to fuel the fight even more as Caleb tries to calm him down. Neo smirks a little. Typical teenagers.

        "I think you owe Kira an apology", says Aaron to Caleb.

        "Actually, I think Kira OWES Sara the apology", says Caleb, trying to defend Sarah. Aaron, who feels as he's losing this fight, shoves Caleb, but New Guy interferes.

        New Guy chuckles before saying to Kira, "You were being kinda bitchy".

        Neo, being a vampire sense something and she saw something change in Reid's eyes. Seconds later, Posse 1 pukes on Aaron and she pulls Sarah just in the nick of time. Aaron's jacket is covered by the puke as he curses Posse 1. Then, the DJ annouces that cops are coming this way and the party has to stop. Everyone begins to leave the scene to their cars. As they walk, Caleb asks if the girls would like a ride, but Kate answers that Sarah drove them here.

        "I could use a lift", says New Guy as he catches up.

        "Hey, nice going back there", says Caleb. He shakes hand with New Guy, who introduces himself as Chase.

        "That guy and you were going to get about it and his friend puking sure came at an opportune time", says Chase.

        "Didn't it though?", says Reid as he and Tyler catch up. Neo jumps in at the back seat with Chase and they greet each other.

        "Far from home, aren't you?", says Chase.

        "Well, not that far", says Neo and the way Chase smirks at her, Neo feels like melting. Their attentions are interrupted when Sarah yells at the sons of Ipswich that her car won't start and she can't leave it here. Reid jumps out and offers his help. Neo sense the same unknown aura and somehow, the car is fixed in seconds. Sarah thanks him and drives away. The journey back to the dorm is quiet and Chase and Neo have a little starring contest.

        The four of them are the last ones to arrive back at the dorm. Neo walks next to Chase as they walk towards Sarah and Kate's room. Chase notices a spider at Kate's shoulder and gets rid of it.

        "Oh my god!", Kate raises her voice in disgust and Sarah shushes her roommate. "They're all over this place", says Kate.

        "Chilvary isn't dead after all", says Sarah.

        "No, it just transferred in", says Kate as she smiles to Chase. "Hey we're gonna go to town tomorrow to pick up some stuff. You two wanna come?", asks Kate.

        "Sure why not?", says Neo.

        "Ok, sure", says Chase, "I'll be at 3-11. Call me".

        Kate and Sarah enter their room and Chase walks Neo to her room.

        "So, this is me", says Neo.

        "Don't wanna invite me in?", asks Chase as he closes the distance between them and Neo can feel the wooden wall on her back.

        "Don't push your luck, mister", says Neo as she pushes Chase away, "You might regret it".

        "I'll take my chances then", Chase grabs the hand that is pushing him away and kisses it, which makes Neo blushes. "I'll see you tomorrow then?", he says. Neo, feeling speechless, just nod. Chase leaves her and she quickly enters her room. Without even bothering to change her clothes, she jumps into the bed, exhausted and quickly falls asleep. Being a hybrid, since she was conceived when her mother was still human, she could walk during daylights and sleep like a normal human, but she could still die by staking. She keeps thinking about Chase and dreams of him.
