Forbidden Love

Chapter 4

Neo's schedule is full on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. She shares a few classes with Chase, which makes her more eager to study. They become partners in physics and chemistry classes. After the fifth period, she and Chase meet up with Kate, Sarah and 'the Sons of Ipswich', as Kate likes to call them, in front of the bullentin board to choose their extra curricular activity.

        "Swimming as always", says Reid.

        "You can join cooking with Kate if you want to", says Pogue, jokingly and Reid glares at him.

        "What about you, Neo?", asks Caleb.

        Neo makes a quick browse and finds the perfect club for her. "This one", she says.

        "Kick-boxing? Really", says Kate, surprised.

        "Yeah, why not?", Neo says as she shrugs. Everyone then goes their separate ways.

Neo is practising her kick-boxing after the last Wednesday class while Chase sits at the side line as he finishes the homework.

        "Need any hand?", asks Neo as she kicks the punching bag.

        "Nah, I'm still ok with the equation", says Chase. Suddenly, Aaron and his posses come bursting in.

        "Wow, can't believe New Yorker looks hot while sweating", says Aaron and Neo gives him a glare. Chase is about to interfere, but Aaron's posses holds him down.

        "Leave her alone!", Chase yells. Aaron and his posses laughs. Aaron tries to touch Neo, but she swats his hand away.

        "Ooh, fiesty! I love fiesty girls", says Aaron as he moves toward Neo to kiss her, but Neo uses just a touch of her vampire speed to evade Aaron's impending assault and a tiny bit of her vampire strength to kick him hard on the abdomen. Aaron gets up to keep on trying, but Neo's evade and attack moves eventually gets him exhausted and sore. Neo finishes off with a swing kick to his face and knocks Aaron out cold.

        "If anyone of you bothers me or my friends, that person will get much worse that this douche bag over here. Understand?", says Neo. Aaron's posses let Chase go and drag Aaron away. Chase adjusts his blazer before heading towards Neo.

        "You ok?", he asks.

        "It's nothing I can't handle", says Neo and she gives him a wink.

Neo is with Kate and Sarah at the library the next day. Neo notices what Sarah is reading - Chronicles of Paganism: The Rise of The Witches. Neo uses her telepathic power and read the books through Sarah's eyes as she hides herself among the bookshelves. Sarah immediately opens the middle of the book, which is about The Witches of Ipswich. Neo notices that 'The Sons of Ipswich' are among the five families that have lived here for centuries. The fifth - Putnam, was accused of witchcraft and was sentenced to die. 

Kate surprises Sarah, which breaks Neo's concentration. Sarah says something about the witch hunt actually started in Ipswich and Kate's answer is, "Every time Iask Pogue about it, he tells me it's all nonsense". Kate helps Sarah to put the books back and Neo really need the Chronicles of Paganism book. She pretends to look for books when Kate and Sarah finds her.

        "Oh, there you are", says Sarah.

        "Wanna join us for lunch?", asks Kate.

        "Um, no thanks. I need to finish my work first", says Neo. She says goodbye to them. Neo searches for the book and finds it. She borrows it and quickly goes to her room to make the research. She reads about the witch hunt and how the fifth one is executed for witchcraft. Neo is startled by a knock at the door. When she opens it, no one is there, except a small brown box. She opens it to find a note with a small teddy bear keychain in it. The teddy bear is holding a note,

        "Can't wait for Friday night ;)". This makes Neo giggles and as she is playing with her new mini playmate, she forgets about the book........., for now.
