Forbidden Love

Chapter 3

Neo wakes up, feeling giddy and excited to see Chase. She takes a quick shower to get rid of yesterday's stink. She rummages through her clothes and found a pink, red and orange ombre sundress. She slides the sundress on, along with her white 3/4 tights and her comfortable sandals. As she brushes her hair, a knock greets her.

        "It's me, Chase. Kate and Sarah are waiting", says Chase. Neo grabs her small sling purse and opens the door. Chase is wearing a t-shirt, with a brown unbuttoned shirt that serves as his jacket and his jeans. When he sees Neo, his jaw drops. "You look stunning, just for grocerry shopping", says Chase.

        "You should meet my grandmother", says Neo as she rolls her eyes. The four of them drive to the town as they talk about a dead kid found, aftermath of the party as the police searched for evidences. When they arrive, Kate and Sarah are looking over at the DIY sections while Neo and Chase are at the stationery section.

        "So, New Yorker huh?", says Chase.

        "Yup, where are you from?", asks Neo.

        "I lived in Minnesota. I was adopted. I never knew my dad and my real mother died when I was 2. My adopted parents died in a car crashed a few months back. I was transferring from Hastings", says Chase.

        "I'm so sorry. I didn't know", says Neo.

        "Don't feel bad. I'm fine anyways", says Chase, "What about you?".

        "My dad said my mum died giving birth to me, so I don't know her. I was raised by my father and grandparents. We live in this huge mansion at Long Island, but occasionally my dad and I stay at our townhouse in Greenwich. My grandpa and dad have this import and export business and my grandma manages the gardens at both of our houses. We have our butler/grandpa's secretary name James Renfield, who can do absolutely anything. I went to a prep school before coming here", says Neo.

        "Wow, you have a butler", says Chase.

        "Well, he's more to a friend to me, but a secretary to my grandpa", says Neo. They gather up whatever they need and go to find Kate and Sarah. Chase surprises Kate and ends up getting his arm hit playfully. Chase and Neo meets up with Caleb. Neo notices how Sarah looks at Caleb, full of infatuation.

        "I'm gonna see if Pogue wanna catch the new Brad Pitt flick this afternoon. Who wants to go?", asks Kate.

        "I will", says Chase. Neo eventually agrees seeing that she has no means of transportation back to the dorm. Using her vampire speed is out of the question.

        "I got to run some errands for my mother", says Caleb.

        "I already saw it", says Sarah. Neo notices Kate's face as Sarah agrees to run errands with Caleb. The two of them leave and Neo, Chase and Kate head towards the small town cinema. During the movie, Neo is squished between Kate and Chase. Pogue is a no show and it disappoints Kate a little.

        Somehow, during the movie, when Chase places his arm around Neo, she relaxes in his hold. They share popcorn during the entire movie. After the movie, Kate brings them to a bar call Nicky's.

        "God, I'm starving!", says Kate as they enter, "You guys want anything?".

        "Whatever that's best around here, Kate. I don't mind", says Neo.

        "I'll have what she's having", says Chase before leaving to find a table for them.

        "He likes you!", says Kate, giddily.

        "Shut up! He can hear you!", says Neo as she giggles before joining Chase. Kate joins them moments later. A waitress brings three sets of french fries, burgers and cokes. As they eat, they are greeted by Reid and Tyler, who head straight to the pool table after greeting them. Caleb and Sarah joins them half an hour later. Pogue is the last to arrive.

        "Oh hey baby! You missed a great movie!", says Kate as they share a brief kiss.

        "Yeah, I had to get my bike fixed", says Pogue.

      "That's cool. Chase and Neo kept me company", says Kate. Neo notices the jealousy in Pogue's eyes. Pogue leaves the table to order food and while waiting, he goes over to Reid and Tyler. Neo watches him and moments later, she senses the same aura she felt the night of the party. Chase and Caleb leaves the girls to play foosball. Eventually, Sarah feels a little bored.

        "What just happened?", asks Sarah and Kate and Neo looks at her, curiously. "Well, we were sitting here, together, having fun and now, we're watching them having fun", says Sarah.

        "That's what girls do. You know boys and their toys", says Kate.

        Sarah shakes her in, disagreeing with Kate's statement. "Give me a quarter", says Sarah.

        "What for?", asks Neo.

        "I'll show you what girls do to have fun", says Sarah, "Don't tell me that you don't party at New York". Neo rolls her eyes and sighs.

        "Try meeting my family then you'll know why", says Neo. Kate gives Sarah the quarter and Sarah goes towards the jukebox. She puts in the quarter, punches in the song selection and 'I love Rock 'N Roll' by Joan Jett is blaring throughout the bar. She sways through the crowd towards Caleb and pulls him for a dance. Chase approaches the table and offers his hand to Neo.

        "Care to dance?", he asks. Kate keeps pushing Neo, who's a little reluctant, but eventually agrees. Their moves are somehow snychronize and Chase twirls her around before catching her into his arms. Neo couldn't resist to smile at his dance moves. Their fun is short-lived when they heard a bottle drops and smashes on the floor. Reid is about to have a fight with Aaron and his posses. Caleb and Pogue head towards them to interfere.

        "Can I help?", asks Chase with his hands still wrap around Neo.

        "No, man, just stay with the girls", says Pogue.

        "Well, that was fun", says Neo, sarcastically. Chase and Neo return to their table and wait as the fight is dragged outside. When it takes too long, Sarah gets up to check up on the boys.

        Neo and Chase are the first to leave when the boys return to the table. The walk back is a little far off, but they manage to arrive before sun down. Chase walks Neo back to her room.

        "I had a great time..., until Garwin messes things up", says Neo.

        "How bout next weekend? Just you and me?", asks Chase.

        "No fuss? No fights?", Neo asks back.

        "Well, if it involves Aaron being bitchy again, then I can't promise", says Chase.

        Neo pulls Chase closer and tiptoes to whisper, "Just because I'm from the city, that doesn't mean I can't defend myself".

        "I bet you can give him a mean swing", Chase whispers before biting her earlobe and it cause Neo to giggle and push him away.

        "Go to bed. We have a full schedule tomorrow", says Neo. Chase kisses her hand and forehead before leaving to his room while Neo giggles as she enters her room and prepares herself for bed.
