Background: Rhiannon was always one that was easily pleased but she easily got bored. As a child, Rhiannon was always fascinated with weather and space. So when she went to college, she double majored in Astronomy and Meteorology. When she graduated college, Rhiannon went into the Air Force where she met her husband, Ethan King, and Rick Martinez. After about 4 years, Ethan and Rhiannon got married and had a kid, causing Rhiannon to retire from the Air Force. After retiring, her brother, Chris, jokingly told her to apply for NASA, in which she did and got the job. She ended up getting chosen to go to Mars with Chris, Mark, Melissa, Beth, Rick, and Alex. About 20 days before going to space, Rhiannon got word that her husband was shot down and killed during a mission.
