Myles POV
Even though Logan has been being nice to Briar, I still don't fully trust her. I have a really bad feeling about this 'walk'. I know Logan very well, and I know that if someone gets in her way she will get rid of them. And I am a little more than worried that Logan will get rid of Briar. I don't know what she has planned, I don't know how bad her plan is either. Will she blackmail her into leaving TNS and Toronto? Will she hurt Briar in any way? Will she kill her?! Oh my god ... now I am really worried. That's an understatement, I am panicking. I have to do something about this while I still have a chance to.
I have to follow them on their walk to the park. I just have to make sure that neither of them notice me until Logan does anything bad.
Briar POV
We are walking around and around, and we are actually talking. Its nice to be able to chat to someone about ... well everything. I trust Logan entirely, and I know we started of rough but now we are smooth sailing. It feels as though Logan and I have been friends for years. Friends, I have never had any of those until now.
"What was it like living on a farm? I have always wanted to live on a farm, with all the cute animals." Logan asks me.
"It was amazing, although I always had to wake up early to feed the animals. You know, maybe one day you could come down to my family farm. When we have time too of course." I suggest.
"That would be great, I can't wait for it. You must miss it heaps, huh? Your family and everything." Logan says.
"You have no idea," I say. "I get kind of worried about my dad and my sister at times. When I left things at home were pretty rough."
"How so?" Logan asks me, curiously.
"I haven't actually told anyone except for Myles but ... " I trail off, unsure of myself.
"You can tell me." Logan promises me.
"Well, a while before I left my mother was ... she was murdered." I explain.
"Oh my ... I am so sorry Briar. I had no idea this was going on for you." Logan says, shocked.
"Its okay, it isn't your fault." I tell her.
"It must be really hard for you. I couldn't imagine going through what you have had to go through." Logan says.
"It does get hard, but I know how to get through the pain. My dad finds it harder than both my sister and I do." I explain.
"I understand that. It must be so hard to loose your wife. One of the people you love the most." Logan tells me.
"I know. I just wish that ..." I am cut off suddenly.
I feel something or someone punch the back of my head and I fall to the ground, wincing in pain. What the hell is happening?
