WADE
"You disappointed me Elijah"
His lips quivered in fear and before me, I watched his body tremble. He was on his knees, his gaze rested on the floor. He didn't even have the courage to look me in the face while he confessed. Anger ran through my veins- like hot steam, burning me on the way out through my nostrils as I took heavy breaths. That was the breaking point. I was tired of the rivals and their stupid tricks.
"I'm s-sorry sir", Eli stuttered.
"You betrayed me", I tapped my fingers on the desk slowly. It was the only sound in the room which had ten other men in it besides Elijah and I. "tell me about him"
"He's the right hand of the head of the rivals, he does all h-his dirty work, he doesn't have their signature tattoo so no one can know", Eli began, "he wanted to know why the girl was so special", he said, "then he met her at some event and they got close?"I laughed. I didn't know why I laughed but it was the only sound that came out at the time. It was laughter laced with rage and anger. He did all their dirty work? Was my Bella dirty work?
"So, you gave her to my enemies"
"I'm so sorry, I needed t-the m-m-money", he stammered.
I scoffed, "it was never about the money", I stood, walking towards him, "look at me"
He hesitated.
"I said, look at me Elijah", I repeated.
He looked up at me, his lips trembling so fast I could barely see them. I took a deep breath and held his head in both hands, "was it really about the money?"
"I'm so sorry sir", his eyes watered. I had never seen any of my men cry. They had been trained since my father was the leader not to so it was surprising that Elijah did just that.
I rose my knee, pushing it upward and at the same time, my hands forced Elijah face downwards. When my knee came in contact with his face, he fell to the ground and wailed in pain.
"There has never been a time when any of you needed more than what I pay you and I did not help", I said, "has there? gentlemen?", I turned to the other men.
Most of them shook their heads. The rest of them watched Elijah with pity on their faces. I couldn't be forced to feel pity. I couldn't be forced to feel anything but rage.
"Stand up Elijah", I said softly. He remained on the floor, "stand up!"
He looked up at me. His eyes were red with sadness and fear. Tears streamed down his cheeks.
"Are you scared?"
"Please...", he muttered, "I'm sorry"
"If everything could be fixed with a simple apology", I said, "there would be no need for laws and justice"
I crouched next to him and looked him in the face, "now, I'm going to kill you", he whimpered and I smiled, "but before I do so, you're going to tell me where Bella is being held and then maybe-", I shrugged, "-if I feel like it, I'll make your death quick and I won't kill that pretty wife of yours"
"Did you really have to kill him?", she leaned into the chair and placed her legs on the desk."What else did he deserve?", I turned to her and asked, "I spared his family, didn't I?"
She sighed, "whatever"
