Some secrets were meant to be hidden in a closet. You never know the numerous seekers or debauchees dedicated to discover the skeleton locked in a chest of secrets.

This was not one of those cases. It was adverted at best.

Ben stood where he was in front of the hatch. His worrisome moon was aimed to the door that concealed the older brother of his new beau.

I never thought I'd see the day. His depression was a sight to behold. Ben reflected with moderate traces of distress and slender abasement. It was a startling contrast to his mixed cold and harshness from their first conclave. When I first met Michael... I honestly felt a little intimidated. The recollection of the sternness which looked like it was molded on his face flashed in his mind. His unruffled demeanor would have meant the inference of his vincinal hardihood. I almost thought nothing could hurt him. Not a scratch to be made. Though Audrey came close to breaking it. The adolescent almost shivered at how his former flame was so blunt and harsh to the five newcomers. More so on how she unleashed so much hurt over Michael. His exterior looked furious and infuriated. But he could tell that the black-haired student tried to hide the affliction inside. But it was still noticeable to him. Nevertheless, Benjamin could tell that the son of Maleficent had an incredible aura and a tenacious heart. All the more noticeable when it came to protecting his friends.

A pondering finger went to his chin. That recent gossip on the Chemistry Classroom must have some relation to his recent behavior. Whatever happened must have damaged him. Evie and Chad have that class. So does Doug. But what else could have happened there?

There was no herald of an answer to be found. The click of a lock added more drawback to the matter. No doubt Michael was not in the amicable mood to deliberate further. Sighing, Ben shook his head and traversed for his room.

I've never seen Michael this... depressed and broken. Ben felt utter concern for the villainous adolescent. The remainder of his future encounter with his sister seeded an idea in his head. Maybe I can ask Mal about him later. Maybe she knows something I can do to help. But right now... I have a date to prepare for.

Meanwhile...

"Ow! Ow! Okay! Easy with the blush!" Mal clenched her eyes and swished the handheld brush from her violet hair. "I don't want to scare him away! ...Not that I could." Her face lowered in slender worriment. The last allotment sounded reluctant.

"Please!" Evie transmitted an offended look to her best friend. "I'll have you know my mom taught me how to apply blush before I could talk! Always upward strokes..." The blue-haired female continued to administer the soft strokes to the violet tresses.

"My mother was never really bright on cosmetics tips." Mal shook her head at the self-reminder. "I never had a sister before. Granted I have a brother... but never a sister." The violet-haired teen confessed in uncharacteristic softness. She could almost reflect on how their odd conflict blossomed into a wonderful bond.

That was an understatement. Out of our entire assemble... Evie was the one whom I connected the most. I always believed she was the sister I never had. Michael came close. He is my actual brother.

"Well, now you do." Evie conferred with a nod of assurance in the midst of her strokes. "We're gonna need all the family we can get if we fail to pull this off. My mother is never a barrel of laughs when she doesn't get her way. Just ask Snow White." She almost chuckled at the scenario.

Mal said nix in feedback for a brief moment. She maintained her stare to the mirror in silence. The small tint of humor had no effect on the current ambience.
