Alex had somehow convinced me to sing. Even over Skype, she loved to hear my voice, which she told me was ‘melodic and beauitful’. Plus, she knew that singing always made me feel better. So I began to sing the first song I thought of, which was Coldplay, of course.

The words flowed smoothly from my mouth, and I quickly found myself getting lost in the song, as always. I was in my own world.
