autumn, 2012

he shoved her away strongly, she fell to the ground with a loud thud! but he couldn't bring it in him to care, she was just a good lay, just a hole to stick his dick into, she didn't matter.

"get out." he said, his voice suddenly angry, disappointed. he looked away from her naked body, lying pathetic on the carpet, the strong urge to regurgitate came within him from somewhere.

"we should talk about this," she said, her voice was shaky. he stifled a groan, there was nothing to talk about.

"there's nothing to say, you're disgusting, honestly," in his peripheral, he could see her scramble up, pulling her shirt and bra on and slipping her pants up. he looked away so he wouldn't have to face her.

suddenly, he felt warm arms wrap around his torso. "why are you doing this? why did you call me here then?"

"stay the fuck away from me!" he snarled, grabbing her wrist roughly and shoving her out the door, throwing her bag and coat outside.

"you're nothing but a person i use for sex sometimes, get that through your thick skull," he said, his voice vicious as he watched her whimpering like a silly little child outside, tears garnering on her face. "i never have cared about you and i never fucking will, okay? don't touch me again."

"f-fine," she mumbled back, tears streaming down her face and he slammed the door shut, disgusted by her existence.

he slept badly that night, trying to drown his demons alone with no warm body to distract him.

-------------------

it took him a while but he noticed. he noticed that she didn't hang around him anymore, didn't drape her arms around him, didn't sit on his lap like it was her throne, didn't parade around him like she owned him. it was a breath of fresh air, if he was being honest.

he found his eyes travelling to where she sat during the physics class they shared and he watched as she shifted slightly in the seat. she seemed...thinner? she looked sicker, that was for sure, her face was gaunt and her skin looked paler. there were prominent dark circles under her eyes and she seemed like she had not eaten a good meal or slept well in a few days. he clenched his jaw, wondering why he was concerned about her well-being.

he turned his face back to the lecturer who was currently explaining about elementary particles. "...a quark combines to form a hadron, a composite particle, the simplest of these are the neutron and proton. the quarks are held together by a strong force, similar to that of how molecules are held together by electromagnetic force."

he scribbled bits of information down, not really focusing and instead thinking that she did seem like she was unwell. he wanted to shake himself, why was he even a little concerned about some little skank that hardly mattered?

physics was something he was interested in, college was somewhere he was lucky enough to be in and instead of paying attention to an important lecture, he was busy wondering about a silly girl? foolish.

the lecturer seemed to finish his discussion because he started gathering his things and slammed his laptop shut, turning the projector off. "alright, class, the assignment for thursday is fairly easy. just briefly explain Einstein's photoelectric effect along with Planck's theory. we'll tackle those in the next class."

the professor finished up with scrawling the assignment on the board and then he nodded at the class before making his way out.

he found his eyes wandering back to her and he watched as she slowly got up, picking her books up and clutching them close to her as she walked out of class, slowly. he stared after her long after everyone had left and then slowly shook his head and got out of class.
