Chapter 35

-Aria's POV-

It's the next morning and I've been in my room since I got home last night. I locked my door to make sure that my mom doesn't barge in to talk to me. She doesn't know about Shawn yet, it's only because every time I think about it I cry harder so I don't even want to try talking about it. It sucks, it really does but I can't talk right now.

I hear a knock at my door. "Yeah?" I asked.

"Honey it's me, can we talk?" My mom asked.

"I don't want one of your motivational speeches right now. Let me suffer please." 

"Honey just talk to me. Shawn's mom called and he's a mess."

"Good he deserves it." I said. 

"Aria open the door." 

"No." I said and she walked away.

I got up and unlocked it and laid back down. A little later Zach knocked and walked in. 

"Can I come in?" He asked and I nodded. He shut the door and sat down on my bed. I sit up and play with my bracelets, something I do when I'm nervous.

"I know you don't really know me but do you wanna talk to me?" He asks, I nod. Maybe it's good to talk to someone new for once. "So what happened?"

"Basically when I was in Florida getting fixed Shawn was here messing around with another girl." I said trying not to cry. "Which I told him to move on because I didn't know how long I'd be gone but he said that he'd wait."

"Aria you told him to move on." 

"I know but he told me that he didn't want to and that he only wanted me. Obviously Tessa is better than me." I said with a fake smile.

"Tessa?" He asked.

"Tessa  Lanceburg, she cheated on Shawn a year or two ago and he went right back to her. She's an awful person. I knew Shawn wasn't over her." I said shaking my head.

"You don't know this yet but I have a two boys one's about two years older than you, he's in college right now and a younger one who's your age but the older one dated Tessa. Yeah I remember her, she cheated on him too." He said. Oh my god what if that's who Tessa was cheating on while she was with Shawn.

"What's your son's name?" I asked.

"Nash who's 20 and Hayes who's 18. Nash is who dated Tessa." He said. Oh my god, that was Shawn's friend.

"Does Shawn Mendes ring a bell?"

"That's the other guy." He said. "That's the guy who hurt you isn't it?" I nodded.

"Well I want to kick that Shawn kid's ass." He said laughing. I smiled and looked up at him. I liked Zach, he's cool.

"Thanks Zach." I said as he gets up.

"I'm always here if you need someone to talk to." 

"Am I ever gonna meet your kids?" I asked. He turns around.

"Hopefully in a couple weeks for Christmas." He said and walked out. 

It felt nice talking to him, talking to someone new. I'm happy that my mom found someone like Zach. They deserve each other, they're both amazing people. I'm gonna like having Zach around, he made me feel a little better. 

I can't wait to meet Nash, we're definitely talking about Shawn.
