Chapter 17

-Aria's POV-

Codi and I went to go see a scary movie, only because she loves them. It wasn't that scary though, just a couple jump scares so it wasn't bad.

The only bad thing about going to a movie with Codi is that she takes all the popcorn. I can't get my own because I won't finish it so we share and she eats all of it. Other than I love going to movies with her, my best friend.

It was 3:30 now so we went to go have a late lunch at this diner place. We went and got a table and ordered our food. While we were waiting I saw a familiar face walk in the door. I can't think of who she is but I know that I know her. She walks up to our table and sits down.

"Hey guys! It's been so long!" She said hugging me . I give her a confused look.

"It's been what? A year?" Codi asked.

"Yeah, too long. Aria I heard you are taking online school?" She questioned.

"Um yeah how'd you know?" I asked still confused of who she was.

"Shawn told me, it was great catching up with him. He said you guys are best friends." She said. This is Tessa, the girl who broke Shawn's heart. I use to be friends with her and I didn't realized it was the same girl until now.

"Why were you with Shawn?" I asked her, you could tell I was getting mad.

"Um i'll be back." Codi said walking away.

"So why were you with Shawn?" I asked again.

"Oh he didn't tell you? We might be getting back together." She said. "We both missed each other so much so we hung out and talked about it."

"What?" I asked. That hit me hard. I could feel my heart getting ready to explode. But Shawn wouldn't do that. No way.

"He said that he missed me and I missed him so we're getting back together. I'm surprised he didn't tell you since you guys are best friends." She said smiling.

Tears started appearing in my eyes. "You're lying."

"Oh but i'm not. Are you upset that he didn't tell you? I'm so sorry." She said grabbing my hands. I immediately got up and walked outside calling an Uber to take me home.

Was Shawn actually cheating on me? He wouldn't do that especially after last night. I'm being stupid. Of course he wouldn't do that, but he did love her. Tessa is gorgeous, way better than me so it wouldn't be a surprise.

I got home and went straight to my room locking it and got in my bed, crying into a pillow so my mom wouldn't hear.

This is why I don't let people in. They come into my life and leave. I finally let someone in and for that i'm broken, he broke me.

I get a call from Codi and ignore it. She calls me three more times so I finally answer.

"What." I said trying not to sound like I've been crying.

"Tessa told me. I'm sorry A." Codi said.

"So you believe her?"

"I mean she was his first love, but Shawn is a nice guy so I don't know. Just talk to him about it." She said and hung up.

I hate Tessa. I hate her with my whole heart. I use to be friends with her in High School but she's dead to me now.

I call Shawn to talk to him about it. I wasn't going to but I have to find out the real answer. He answers on the second ring.

"What's up babe?" He asked.

"Hi." I said trying not to cry.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

"Nothing, i'm fine." I said, i'm not fine though. Every bone in my body is slowly breaking.

"No you're not. Talk to me before I come over."

"Don't come over."

"Aria seriously what's wrong?"

"I mean I understand why, she's perfect, way better than me."

"What are you talking about."

"Shawn, you broke me just like Tessa and you guys deserve each other."

"What? Tessa means nothing to me anymore." He said. I could tell he was about to cry.

"You broke me and I hate you and I hate myself because of it."

"Aria please." He said crying.

"Have fun with her." I said, those words could barely come out of my mouth.

I hung up and tossed my phone on the ground, crying into my pillow again.
