AUGUST P.O.V.
I pulled up to Ariana's apartment building and hit the locks, waiting for her to get out. She slowly undid her seatbelt and faced me. ".....Thank you for coming to the appointment with me..." "I told you I was coming, so there's no need to thank me." I said looking out the window. She sighed. "August can we talk?" I sighed and reached over to her door and opened it. "Nah, you can get out though."
She closed her door and sighed. "It's been three days since I seen you....can we talk...please?" I rubbed my chin and motioned for her to start talking. "Okay." She started. "I know what I did was wrong and Im not trying to justify it, but, you cheated on me too, and I forgave you....why can't you just forgive me too??" I scoffed. "You really think that's what it's about huh??" I started. "I would be a hyprocrite if I couldn't forgive you for cheating, that ain't why Im mad." "Then what is it about?" She asked in a sigh.
"You was all in my ass when you found out about Simone, you had the nerve to be actin all holier than thou and shit." She nodded. "I know and Im sorry, I really am." She placed her hand on top of mine and gently rubbed it. "Come on baby, are you really going to let this come between all that we have." I shook my head and moved my hand.
"Nah don't even try all that. I should have listened to everybody who had something to say about you." She frowned. "Excuse me??" I sighed. "You heard me." She folded her arms across her chest and turned towards me. "And who's everybody August?" "My mama, Simone, Craig, basically everybody I introduced you too." She scoffed. "So your were talking to Simone about me??" I sighed. "I ain't say that, and Im not fena get into it with you either." I reached across her and pushed her door open again. "I'll see you at the next appointment."
She scoffed and snatched her bag up from beside her. Just as she was about to step out the car. I sighed and pulled her back. "Wait." She sat back down and faced me. "Before you go." I started. She looked at me with a small smirk, waiting for me to continue. I looked down at her hand and motioned to it. "Ima need that back." I said pointing to her ring. She hesistated before slowly pulling the ring off her finger and sitting in her seat. "Can we talk abo-" I raised my hand, cutting her off. "Nah we talked enough, bye Ariana." she stepped out the car and I drove off.
THE NEXT DAY-SIMONE P.O.V.
"A little over to the right." I leaned up agaisnt the doorframe, as I watched Trey move around the crib for me, trying to find the perfect spot. He stood up straight, trying to catch his breath. "Okay nevermind, I liked it the other way, move it back to the left." He sucked his teeth and pushed it back in it's original spot. "Are you sure this is where you want it?" He asked slightly annoyed. I chuckled. "Im sure, and Im sorry, I know you've been moving it back and forth for like a hour now."
He wiped the beads of sweat off his forehead as he walked passed me and out the room. "Im going to get some water before I die." I chuckled. "Okay." I slowly steped into my guest room, which me and try spent the last three days, turning it into the baby's room. I looked around at the walls that we painted pink and purple and all the cute pictures and stuff animals we put around the room. I smiled to myself, finally realizing that this was real.
"Simone, the door!!" I heard Trey yell from the kitchen. I sighed and walked out of the room and into the living room, to see Trey sitting on the couch. "And you couldn't get the door because?" I asked eyeing him. "You worked me enough for the day." He took a sip from his water bottle and kicked his feet up on the coffee table. I shook my head and sped walked to the door.
I undid the locks and swung the door open. As soon as I seen who it was, I frowned. "Simone..hey." August said with a awkward smile. I tried to shut the door, but he put his foot in the doorway, blocking me from closing it. "Move your foot August." I said, trying to push the door close. "Just hold on for a second, I came by to tell you something." He placed his hand on the door, trying to hold it open. I sighed. "I don't really care, move your foot and get away from my door." I pushed harder on the door, but it wouldn't buldge.
"You were right." He said through the small gap in the door. I frowned. "Right about what?" I slightly relaxed my grip on the door. "Ariana." He started. "I should have listen to the things everybody had to say about her....she wasn't as innocent as she seemed." I looked back at Trey who was staring at the door in shock, just like me. "Well good for you." I tried to push the door back, but he held on to it. "Just let me apologize, I should have listened to you."
"I honestly don't care about your apology." He sighed. "So you ain't gon listen to me?" "No!" I semi-yelled. "I don't care about anything you have to say, just stay the hell away from me, and get away from my door!" I pushed his foot out of the door and slammed it as hard as I could. "Simone, Im sorry, just hear me out." He yelled from outside. "Go away!! I have nothing to say to you!" I locked the door and waited until I heard his footsteps diminish.
I stood on my tippy toes and looked through the peep-hole. I took a sigh of relief once I seen he was gone. ".....You alright?" Trey asked, sitting up straight. "Y-yeah, Im fine." I smiled a little to reassure him. "That was....awkward." I nodded. "I know..why the hell would he come here?" I took a seat next to Trey and sighed. "To apologize obviously." I shook my head. "It's too late for apologies Trey, Im really done with him."
"Damn." He mumbled. "Are you sure? Or are you saying that because your pissed at him?" I stood up from the couch and sucked my teeth. "Im sure, and I don't want to talk about him anymore, let's just finish up the baby's room." Trey nodded. "Alright."
