"I love you too"...

I woke up and I had remembered my words to Josh at the prom two days ago.

Its finally the day.
Graduation.

Today was graduation day and I had mixed feelings of nostalgia and nervousness.

I get ready just in time to leave with Keisha.

We arrive at school and I spot my friends and I mean Josh and his friends with Susan and the other girls.

I walk over to them and they all smile at me.

I was nervous.

I was going to deliver a speech which I had actually written with an annoying boyfriend who was constantly disturbing me and leaving no room for concentration.

" Don't be nervous, birdie, you'll be fine" He said, acting all nice and innocent and holding my hands.

The event starts and soon it was time for me to deliver the speech.

"I will now call on Miss Sasha Wales, the valedictorian for this year's graduating students". The principal said into the microphone.

Everyone in the hall clapped as I walked up to the stage nervously.

I looked at the crowd and Keisha gave me a 'go on with it" look.

I cleared my throat, about to start the speech.

"Good day,Ladies and Gentlemen, the principal and all the teachers of the school, parents and my fellow colleagues.
It is my pleasure and a privilege to stand here, delivering this speech as the valedictorian for this year.

It wouldn't have been possible without the right foundation and the right people to help me with a lot of stuffs.

Firstly,I would like to thank my parents for the endless love, care and affection shown to me.
You really mean a lot to me.

Secondly, I would like to thank all my teachers for the impact made in our teaching.
Without you guys,I guess my brain wouldn't have upgraded..

Thanks for all the knowledge and wisdom you passed on to us.

I would also like to thank the school principal and all other boards if management and staffs in the school.

You guys are the best.

I stand here, speaking as a voice for the ones who have experienced hard times and heartbreaking moments before they summoned the courage ,broke all odds and faced it all.

As a voice for the ones who have learnt how to forgive and forget the hurtful memories over the time.

As a voice for the ones who haven't gotten the courage to express themselves.

As a voice for the ones who are bullied and seem to have lost their self-esteem.
Its not too late for you to redeem yourself...

As we go out into the world beginning from now and go our separate ways,I advise you to be bold, make that stand.

Do whatever you seemed to have been underestimated not to be able to do.

Don't procrastination, its time's enemy.

Most importantly, be yourself and love yourself for who you really are. Thank You"
I ended, looking up at the crowd as they stood up to clap while  I left the stage for where I was seated.

Even though I thought the speech was bad,I guess everyone seemed to love it.

"Nice one girlfriend" Keisha said as she hugged me.

My friends all hugged me ,smiling contentedly.

The Graduation Service was soon over and with mixed feelings of happiness and sadness, I hugged my friends and some of my classmates that I was close to.

We all had to part some day but I was glad that today wasn't that day yet, it was the time when we all had to go to college for further studies.
