Luis couldn't believe when I told him I had decided to go after all. He was expecting me to stay back like I usually do since I never really saw a point to these trips. I haven't gone to any of the trips we've had since freshman year. There were interesting ones like a week to Hawaii which seemed fun but I didn't see myself having much fun since Luis always ends up getting drunk and leaving with some girl. I'm not a social person at all, I guess that's what happens when you grow up alone, you just get used to the idea of it being that way. On the other hand Luis grew up with a big healthy family. Luis was actually the one that talked to me first. I believe it was his 6th birthday and technically it was my mom that got invited. I was sitting alone eating some truly amazing pecan cookies when he came and asked if I wanted to play with the others. I thought about it, but didn't finish deciding or even got to reply. What he did was drag me to the bouncy house and made me jump with him. I was a little uncomfortable at first, but as the hours passed I had a great time. After that my mom seemed to be going to Luis mom's house, Martha, often to talk and I always had to tag along since my dad was never home to care for me; not that he could've done so either way. Luis would always take me outside on the trampoline and or pool. Sometimes we'd go to his room to play with his older brother's video games or watch a movie. As time went on we grew up together and even went to the same schools up till now. I'm only open with him at times because I'm not comfortable letting people know stuff even to someone as close to me as Luis. I wouldn't talk about the whole picture, because honestly I carry a load of childhood trama that prevents me from sharing some bits of my life.

4 days later
Today is the day we go to California. We had to met up at the front of the school at 5am so we can get to California at around 3pm. It was going to be a long 10 hours, but hopefully it would be worth it.
....
The ride there was a bore. Everyone was sleeping or listening to music. For about 3 hours I was awake till my eyes started to feel heavy and I took a 5 hr nap. I did wake up a few times in between because we would stop to go to the bathroom and buy some snacks. Nothing out of the ordinary.

A long road trip later:
We made it to the motel we're staying at for the next 3 weeks. It was actually a pretty nice one to say the least, not the average low maintenance looking motel you typically think of. I would even say it was more of a resort, but they called it "The Motel".

We all made our way into the lobby to get checked into our rooms and all. Some went to the pool and others went to their rooms to sleep more. We aren't going to start our trip until tomorrow. Apparently we're going to some hike, but the fun part is on the way there we'll see a waterfall called the Twin Falls and at the end of the day we'll go to a hidden swimming hole or in other words a "mermaid cave."
For the time being I decided to watch something on the TV for a bit, then shower and order some dinner because I was starving.

After dinner, I decided to explore the place a little just so that I'll be able to find my route for a morning run and avoid getting lost.

10 mins later
Well....I'm lost. I have no idea were I am at this point. I tried to retrace my steps but this place is massive. I found a bar but no one was around. Everyone was out by the pool or going around the city. I just hoped for someone to appear so I sat on one of the bar stools.

I heard footsteps coming toward me after about 10 minutes. I turned and saw someone in the distance in the dark hallway. A few seconds later I see the figure of a women appear in the faint light projecting from the bar lights. I saw her walking toward my direction and sat on the bar stool next to me. She didn't say anything, but wow she was gorgeous, like no other girl I've seen. She had such beautiful big hazel green eyes, her hair was a gorgeous caramel brown, long and wavy , she looked to have the most beautiful skin that it glowed, her lips had a blush pink tone and her plump pout blended beautifully into them, her facial structure complimented her features, God really took his time on her. She didn't say anything to me for a while instead, she looked above to what revealed a huge glass ceiling with access of the night sky filled with twinkling stars with a perfect mix of dark blue, deep purple, and hints of pink blending magnificently. The light gave her a sheer glow and sparkle in her eyes.
She noticed I was staring at her, that's when she turned to me and smiled. God damn she was stunning. I didn't know what to say to her I was just in shock. Then she spoke
"Hey why're you here all lonely?"
"Oh um I got lost, so I just waited for someone to umm help me find my way ba-ck"I stumbled to reply
"Oh I thought you were here for vodka shots" she smirked.
I nervously smiled not knowing what to say. "Haha I see, you're underage..... I'm just messing with you" she laughed. "Anyways what's your room number, I know this place like the back of my hand" she said
"Real-ly?, it's 104, thank you" I timidly replied.
"Of course it would be my pleasure" she said

As we walked to my room she asked me a couple questions like what year I'm in, my name, and just basic stuff like that. She kept throwing me with questions that I couldn't even ask her any...Well actually that's a lie. I made it awkward like always. She kept asking me questions to fill in the awkward silence I created for giving her quick simple replies.

After about 10 minutes, we made it to my room and she had to go. She surprised me with a kiss on the cheek and I got flustered. Thankfully it was dark and she wouldn't see me blushing. By the time I was out of her trance I wanted to call out to her and at least ask for her name, but when I looked around for her, she was completely gone without leaving a trace.
