Have you ever liked someone so much that you did everything and more to show that person you would do anything for them? You would talk all the time, hang out all the time, and do things that couples usually do. Go to the movies, go out to dinner, watch movies and cuddle on the couch, just as if you were a really couple. You would have long talks about how you you both meant to one another and talked about being something in time, but wanted to wait because of previous relationships. Well I am about to tell you about my best friend. The best friend that I have fallen madly in love with.

My good friend Joey had just gotten married a week ago and I had a date to the wedding. She was my first relationship and my first love. It was a high school relationship and we all know those things never last. It was my senior year and she made my life a living hell. In the end we went our separate ways and even though we did she always crossed my mind. I guess that's what happens when they are your first of everything... Anyways 4 years passed by and we rekindled where we left off. It wasn't so bad at first. It was like honestly getting back to where we started but filling in the gaps that we didn't know what had happened in our lives. We would hang out, talk, go out and you know.. That kinda stuff too. We were dating, but without the label. We both had just gotten out of toxic relationships so we helped one another through it. It was good until she was telling me she wasn't ready to be anything serious and that I was wasting my time.. It hurt, but she was still okay doing what we had been doing. I was down for it, until she actually got into a relationship.. But she told me she wasn't ready for anything serious? I still stuck around because that's what friends are for, right? Well they broke up and we started where we left off and once she was ready I was 50/50. I gave it a shot but it was terrible. She ended doing things behind me back and I wouldn't know till weeks later. I had enough but I was going to wait until after the wedding to see if we could work things out.

It was the wedding day and I was super excited to be dressed up with my old high school sweetheart because we didn't go to any dances because we broke up a month before our senior year started so no dances or prom. I was really excited for it, but we ended up fighting that entire day. It was so exhausting, but once we were together we were good. That's how it always was... We were fine until we weren't together... Then once I dropped her off at her apartment we got into a fight of course. ALWAYS when we leave one another. She had been trying to me to move in or her to move in with me. I just wasn't ready, especially since our relationship has always been a roller coaster.

One week after the wedding I was done, but I just shrugged it off. I wanted to see how things were going to play out. I was at work doing food prep because that's what they needed me do that afternoon. I am a manager at a really popular restaurant and my good friend Joey who had just gotten married was my manager underneath me had worked there as well. He had brought some cake from his wedding.

"Hey Yugi, I brought some cake from my wedding last week! Mai wants me to get rid off it today before I come home after my shift. I know that you leave here in an hour but can you help out your bro?"I just looked at my blonde haired friend with those puppy dog eyes he was giving me. I just laughed and nodded my head. We had been closed down for a month for a remodel so we had only been open for 2 weeks. I had started a higher position once we reopened and we also had a lot of new faces. This was going to be challenging but I'll do it for my best friend. I was looking around and I saw a new guy that had started two weeks before we closed down but he had worked a at restaurant like this and he was upper management. So once we came back he moved up, not really high up but he had authority. We had texted a few times over the remodel and also talked a few times at work the past couple of weeks. I thought he was a very handsome young man. I liked talking to him when I could. All the girls were all over him and a few guys. I just kinda watched and heard things, but we enjoyed talking to one another when had a chance.

"Hey Yami! Joey has left over wedding cake and I was wondering if you wanted some? It has 4 kinds of purple inside the cake?" I winked at him and chuckled some. He then turns around and flirtatiously leans on the prep table then looks at me.

"Hmm well I would love some, but since I have no gloves I can't touch the cake." He then smirks at me and I started to laugh at him and I then grab him some cake.

"I guess since I have gloves that I have to feed it to you too, right?" I laugh and then he looks at me and smiles then of course he opens up his mouth for the cake. As soon as I do that my best friend Joey walks by.

"I THOUGHT WE WERE BEST FRIENDS!? You have never fed me cake..." he said joking, but I could also tell he was bothered by it. I laughed and rolled my eyes at him.

"I guess we're besties now?" Yami said while he looked at me. I smiled at him and I looked at him. I felt something but I didn't think of anything at that moment.

"For the resties." I said while I looked at him. He was so charming. I loved the scent he had on, I am not sure what it was but I loved the scent so much. He had hair similar to mine. We both have tri colored hair, but his blonde bangs go up and mine stay down. The tips of his hair crimson and mine are violet. The tips that we have match our eyes. Then he's slightly taller than me, more built than I am and he has tattoos. You can see why everyone is crazy about him. He's a good looking guy and no one really knows who he is. He's kinda mysterious and I want to get to know him. My shift had just ended and I was about to clock out but I needed to find someone to take my spot. I look around I see no one who knows prep but Joey but he is the manager on duty and I can't take him away from front. Then I see Yami walking by and he looks at me.

"I know you're off at 2, so I am here to take your spot. I already told Joey I am crossed trained so I know this well enough to take over." He smiles at me and I nodded okay.

"Thanks Yami!" before I leave he comes to me and gives me a hug. It was odd, but I liked it. I loved the scent he had on. Every time he walks by I admire it. It goes so well with him. That scent fits him very well. I then hugged him back and I begin to walk away. Then he says to me.

"Hey bestie, text me after 8. That's when my shift ends!" he smiles and me then he winks.

"Sure thing bestie!" I wave at him and I couldn't help but smile. I like the attention he was giving to me today. I walked to my car and I couldn't help but smile.
