More than friends?

Chapter 13

I am walking hand in hand with Yami downtown looking at all of the lights and admiring the handsome man I have next to me. It felt so natural just being with him and I can't wait to see where this goes with us. This is something that I have always longed for, but ended up always settling for less. I have never thought that I deserve the best because I have never felt good enough for anyone. Now, I am just to the point where I am tired for settling for less when I know I want someone who's going to see me as the best damn thing that they have ever had. I want that more than anything right now. I think Yami will give and show me what I have always wanted.

I look at Yami and I just smile. He's so handsome and he honestly just makes me smile like an idiot. I hope that he's enjoying this evening with me. I know I am enjoying this so much more than I had expected. He looks at me and gives me a wink. I blush instantly and with me doing that I looked away.

 I then feel some hands on my face and I see what he is doing... He pushes my yellow bangs that come down to my eyes and moves them away. Then he leans down to me and I then begin to feel my heart about to burst out of my chest. He is getting more and more closer to my face...

I then begin to lose my breath when I see his face comes closer to mine. I don't know what I am going to do if he ends up kissing me... I then blush even more when he looks straight into my eyes. I have never seen such red eyes before and his are absolutely stunning. He then begins to lean into my face and then someone ruins this moment...

"YUGI! YAMI!" Someone from a distance is yelling and I can't tell who it is from where we are and from how loud it was. My heart sinks wondering who it could be... It has to be someone from work. Whoever it is must have seen us about to kiss. I really don't want this going around at work...

I look around to see who it is and it's Tea. She does work with us but she only works a few nights a week and she's not the one to gossip. I'm so glad out of all the people from work it was her. She runs towards us and we begin to walk closer to her. Yami just acts so cool and casual with no signs of worry on his face. I am a mess but I am trying to act as calm as possible right now...

"Hey guys! What are you up to? I had no idea you guys were friends! I have never really seen you guys talk when I do work you guys. Well... Then again I don't work that often. Anyways, what are you two up to? I hope I didn't ruin anything. Wait... is this a date or something?" I gulp and I begin to slowly freak out when she asks me that. I have no idea what to say... I then look at Yami wondering if he's waiting on me to answer... This is so awkward. 

"Actually, we are getting to know one another right now. I guess you can call it a date, but I don't like labels. I am here spending time with Yugi since I enjoy his company and he's pretty great. It was nice seeing you Tea, but if you don't mind Yugi and I are heading off." He said so calmly and he grabbed my hand and we walked away. I was shaking slightly since I was super nervous... I then looked at him and he smiled. 

"You're really adorable when you get really surprised like that. I can tell that you didn't know what to say when she asked us a  few questions. You know I don't really care for labels, but I would consider this a date. I did ask you out." He gave me a sweet smile and I smiled back at him. "You know, I may not be the type of guys who speaks his feelings very much, but I am really enjoying this evening with you. I like spending time with you, and you actually make me happy. I have enjoyed this evening very much." He gave me another smile and I started to blush so much when I heard him say that.

"Haha yeah... I get nervous when I am asked questions like that. I am not really used to this kind of attention and also I just overthink things or talk too much. If you couldn't tell haha..." I look at him and he smiles while he lets out a small chuckle. He then gets close to me once again and puts his hands on my waist. I then look up to him and he looks down to me.

"So.... I've really enjoyed this evening with you too. You make me smile a lot and I can't wait to go on more adventures with you." I said finally when once he stopped chuckling at me. I can see it in his eyes he was so happy to hear that and that made me very happy. We gaze into each others eyes for a moment. In that moment I felt my phone buzz and I knew who that was. 

I haven't talked to her at all today and I promised I would send a few texts to her. I then zone all t this away when he speaks to me...

"Yugi, I think you're so adorable. I have said that in my head multiple times today. You're more than adorable, but you have such a cute personality. I really do enjoy being around you. It's getting a little late, but would you like to talk in the car some before we call this a night?"

I then think about everything that he has said to me and I just smile. This is too good to be true, but I am going to take a chance with him. I want to see where this goes, and I want a new chapter in my life. I am tired of living in the past and want something new and not toxic. This is what I have been waiting for...

"Yeah that sounds perfect." I smile at Yami and we head to my car.
